Cloud 9 sleeps from 5 to 8, including: (a) a master bedroom upstairs with pillow-top queen bed, ensuite and separate dressing room; (b) a pleasant second bedroom upstairs also with pillow-top queen bed; plus (c) a private third bedroom on the ground level with 2 king singles, 40 inch wall-mounted Sharp TV and ensuite bathroom. In addition, there is also: (d) a comfy double sofa bed in the upstairs media room for extra guests; and (e) a quality BabyBjorn travel cot (please request). There are 3 bathrooms (2 ensuites + main) and undercover parking for 3 or more cars.
You will be 'floating on air' staying at this eco-friendly Queenslander at Eagle Heights on Tamborine Mountain. You can use the telescope to explore the ocean horizon from Jumpinpin to Surfers Paradise, or survey the hinterland valleys of Wongawallan to the wetlands of Coombabah. There are vivid panoramas both day and night. Wake to the colours of the rising sun and see rainbows paint the local hillsides, or stargaze onto a clear night sky and watch the full moon rise over the Pacific Ocean. The upstairs bedrooms and living rooms all enjoy the uninterrupted coast and hinterland views, with walls of glass opening to the eastern verandah. And there are over 90 square metres of decks to bring the outdoors closer in.
Cloud 9 is ideally located on the north-east edge of the mountain escarpment in a quiet, end-of-court position, bordering an environmental preserve. It's a brisk walk to the lush Botanic Gardens or a 3 minute drive to the lively tourist shops, restaurants, cafes and wineries of Gallery Walk. You should visit the nearby heritage museum and stroll through the ancient rainforest of MacDonald National Park and Curtis Falls. Or adventure further with the kids to the Glow Worm Caves, Skywalk, the high ropes course at Thunderbird Park and the Cedar Creek rock pools.
This refined holiday house is furnished throughout with quality appointments. Catch a blu ray DVD on the 51 inch Samsung TV in the media room, or listen to your iPod/iPhone on the Pioneer sound system in the living room. Research the local area, play a board game with the kids and plan your next adventures around the big family dining table. Or chat with friends on the plush leather couches while preparing dinner for 8 in the well-provisioned kitchen. Then again, you could simply open the welcome bottle of wine, check out the mini-library, recline in the 20 jet spa bath and choose your zone to relax on the main deck.
There is all-year, outdoor dining for 10 or more on the viewing deck, with an undercover BBQ - great for entertaining with family and friends. Look out over the sub-tropical eucalypt forest that spills down the escarpment, identify some of the many rare birds, and use the telescope to spot more reclusive wildlife. Then explore the charming Cloud 9 garden, with its majestic gum tree at the entrance, roses and rainforest, pebble paths and hedge rows, fruit trees and a herb patch. See if you and the kids can find the hidden fairy door, the 'Green Man' or the Cheshire Cat nesting box. And for our wedding guests, there are several garden 'rooms' to reveal, and a number of colourful props to discover for those special pre-wedding photos.

Tamborine Mountain - The Green Behind the Gold Coast
Cloud 9 is a scenic, 35-minute drive from the classic beaches of the Gold Coast, 30 minutes from the theme park wonderlands, 1 hour from metropolitan Brisbane and a world away from anywhere. A rainforest getaway on Tamborine Mountain is like a breath of fresh air.
The three suburbs on Tamborine Mountain are Eagle Heights to the north, North Tamborine in the middle and Mount Tamborine to the south. The major attractions of Gallery Walk, the Botanic Gardens, the Heritage Museum, Curtis Falls, MacDonald National Park, Palm Grove National Park and dreamy Cloud 9 are all to be found in Eagle Heights.
Tamborine Mountain is actually a remnant volcanic plateau about 10 kms long, 5 kms wide and some 550 metres above sea level. It is lofted above the hinterland between the Pacific Ocean and the Great Dividing Range. The mountain is an island in the sky, surrounded by protected rainforest and eucalypts, home to around 7000 people and a sanctuary for the native flora and fauna.
Birdwatchers and photographers especially appreciate the variety of some very rare species. Lyrebirds, king parrots, cockatoos and lorikeets, tawny frog mouth, whip birds and inquisitive bowerbirds populate the forests. Elusive platypuses live in the clear mountain creeks and at night the glow worms glow in the forest caves.
The embracing beauty of the mountain has attracted many writers, poets, artists, artisans and travellers. Original gifts and mementos can be purchased at the many galleries and antique shops across the mountain. There is a local producer's market every Sunday from 8.00 am at the Showgrounds with the main farmer's markets every second Sunday of the month (at the Showgrounds) and every last Sunday of the month (opposite Tamborine Mountain State School).
PLEASE NOTE: Cloud 9 employs a part-time professional gardener, cleaner and launderer, and provides regular income for several other local service providers. To help maintain Cloud 9 as a valued contributor to the Tamborine Mountain community, there are two restrictions: (1) NO FUNCTIONS or PARTIES; and (2) NO PETS.
