Description
Get out of the city and enjoy the simple pleasures of a country town. Can't be bothered cooking, then walk down the hill to one of the local hotels. Avoca is a goldfield town with many historic buildings but it is also a real town with a bakery, butcher, newsagent, chemist, small supermarket, post office, cafes, galleries, swimming pool and two hotels. It is within an easy two hour drive from Melbourne and forty five minutes from the provincial towns of Ballarat, Bendigo and the happening Castlemaine. Avoca is an excellent base to explore the Grampians, and the towns of Clunes and Creswick. Our local Pyrenees wineries include Blue Pyrenees, Dalwhinnie, Redbank, Mount Avoca, Taltarni, and Summerfield . These wineries have tasting rooms with picnic facilities and friendly winemakers. For the energetic, it is possible to visit many of these on your bike via country roads. Upon request you can store your bike or car securely in the garage at Willyama.
Willyama is within a short stroll of the town of Avoca. The house provides plenty of space indoors and outside to relax and unwind and reconnect with family and friends. There is a return verandah around three sides of the house with a large deck at the back of the house that is great spot to catch the sunshine. The house has French doors opening onto these spaces from the lounge room, kitchen and back deck. The main bedroom contains a queen size bed and there are two single beds in the second bedroom. There is another queen size bed in the sun room. The house has a wood heater and central gas heating.
The large separate lounge room has a lovely fireplace with a slow combustion heater. The lounge contains a flat screen television, DVD player and CD player. The kitchen is fully equipped and contains an electric oven and dishwasher.
All linen is supplied. ( sheets, towels and tea towels)
