Escape the city and relax at Koorameet, a newly built luxury retreat in Barwon Heads on the picturesque Bellarine. This eco-friendly residence, nestled among ancient moonah trees, is a short distance from excellent beaches, boutique shopping, gourmet dining and two premier golf courses.
The house has three bedrooms, two with en suite and balcony, and can accommodate up to six adults (couples or singles). Features include a large modern kitchen and dining area with vaulted ceiling, state-of-the-art entertainment system, undercover parking, barbecue area and king-size beds.
Koorameet is the local Aboriginal word for tawny frogmouth, an owl-like bird that camouflages itself in the grey-brown branches of the moonahs. These birds regularly nest on the property.
Eco-friendly Retreat
Every effort has been made to minimise Koorameets ecological footprint. The house was designed around the established moonah trees, some of which are hundreds of years old, and new vegetation is indigenous to the area, providing habitat for native fauna.
Koorameet generates much of its own energy on site through 16 photovoltaic solar panels on the north-facing roof. All windows are double-glazed to retain warmth in the winter and keep the house cool throughout summer. An 18,500-litre tank provides water for toilets, the outdoor shower and gardens.
The staircase, floor boards, timber bench tops and dining table are made from recycled hardwood, while the external timber used for cladding and decks is radial sawn to avoid wastage. The carpets in the upstairs bedrooms are made from corn sugar, and all appliances are energy efficient.
We now have available two bicycles which are perfect for exploring what the wider local area has to offer.
Koorameet is an ideal getaway for 2 or 3 couples or for 6 adults on a girls weekend or a golf trip.

We have an awesome weekend staying in the most luxurious "holiday home" ever. It is more than a home away from home. Just pack your toothbrush, everything else is there and more.

Koorameet is a delightful place to stay. The house is a modern treasure so thoughtfully placed amongst amazing ancient Moonah trees. We felt at home as soon as we arrived, not sure if the children were more excited about finding their beautiful bedroom with en-suite or the yummy chocolates left for us on the bench. The house is appointed with everything you could want for; the kitchen is amazing not to mention the huge TVs!!! We didnt want to come home, Many thanks Chris and Nev.

A beautifully built and presented property providing wonderful holiday accommodation in the best beachside town we have stayed at in Victoria. The owners thought of little extras that made us feel we were the 'guests'.
Eating out in the boardwalk BBQ area with surround sound softly playing from underneath was a perfect setting for a family dinner.
