Locality
Point Turton is situated on the Southern end of Hardwicke Bay. With its stunning views and excellent fishing Point Turton has been described as one of Australia's "best kept secrets". About 2 ½ hrs comfortable drive from Adelaide, this peaceful seaside fishing village offers a wide choice of activities for the whole family.
The Point Turton General Store provides eat-in / take-away. The store also offers ice, bait, Post Office, EFTPO and fuel facilities. The nearby towns of Warooka, Yorketown & Minlaton provide most other facilities that you may require, (hospital, banks, hardware stores, LPG, etc.)
There is a well maintained boat ramp for the avid "boaty". The local jetty entices garfish, tommy ruff and squid for the jetty angler. There is a 'swimming-centre' beach with pontoons and diving boards ("Vacswim" occurs here during January). For the water lovers there are opportunities for diving and snorkeling with cliff-faces and reefs to explore. Walkers and beach-combers will enjoy kilometers of beach looking for shells and sea creatures washed up after the storms. The bay is also ideal for windsurfing, sailing and of course boat fishing.
