Such a relaxing place - quiet, private, well appointed and well located. It was our ideal break especially for our dog. We enjoyed being on the back lake - the views, birds and particularly having a jetty and canoe available. The tank water is delicious. Thanks from the Thomsons, Feb 2013

We absolutely loved our 4 days at Lakefront Retreat. It has a wonderful, homely feel about it, and is filled with everything you could possibly want to ensure a great time. The kitchen in paticular offers quality dining and cookware, and the beds were so comfortable.
Outside, we spent many an hour on that great balcony watching and feeding all the colourful birds that came to visit.
In town, you can get all the groceries you need from the local Woolworths store, and in nearby Eden the oyster shops are plentiful. Yum!
I am sure that when we leave Australia in a few weeks, we will look back upon our few days at Lakefront as being our favourite place to stay.
Thank you Sue for thinking of everything, and it was a pleasure meeting and communicating with you!

All the other reviews are spot on! Plus there was so many little extras that made the stay so much more welcoming, such as plenty of towels, washing powder, birdseed for the visiting bird life, pantry items such as oil and sauce and milk. Lots of info on things to do, places to eat etc. Great place to stay!

What a fantastic location! So quiet and yet so close to everything - we walked everywhere, bush, beach, lake, restaurants, shops. The dogs had an absolute ball with their own private jetty to launch off and swim! Very comfortable home with a large balcony to enjoy the bush and lake views. Sue was a pleasure to deal with. Highly recommended.

Our family of four enjoyed a lovely 5 night stay at the retreat. We loved the accommodation. The view was amazing and we loved chilling out at the pier, watching and listening to the bird life, fishing and kayaking. it was nice being in such a tranquil place, but still being so close to the shops, etc.

We stayed at Lakefront Retreat over Easter 2012 and had a great and relaxing time. The location was ideal and within easy walking distance of the town. There we also plenty of options for walks around the area along the front and back lakes. The house itself was well presented and as described on the website. We were a group of 5 adults and thoroughly enjoyed our time at Lakefront Retreat and would happily recommend the property.

a tranquil cottage set in beautiful natural, quiet surrounds. Enjoyed that fact that you could walk to town and have a couple of drinks with dinner and enjoy a stroll back to the Retreat. Very well set up and a lovely bathroom.

We had a wonderful stay at Lakefront Retreat. Before booking Sue answered all our questions about the property promptly. Location was quiet, but still walking distance to everything - my young family loved watching the birds feed off the deck, walking to the park at the end of the street and then onto the shops.
Highly rate the cooking facilities provided, really helpful for preparing picnics!
Thank you again.

The house was beautifully presented and extremely comfortable. The location was also perfect. So close to the centre of Merimbula and also to a great beach. The spectacular view from the deck over the back lake was a pleasure while sitting out watching the sun set and cooking a few steaks over the bbq.
Sue (owner) was a pleasure to deal with and we will be looking forward to another stay here at some time in the future.

We are regular stayz users but reluctant reviewers our experience with this house and the owner has inspired us to encourage other people to stay at the Lakefront retreat. The house had a lovely feel and was well positioned at the end of a cul de sac overlooking the lake. The furniture was comfortable and the house was well-appointed and had great cooking equipment. The house felt private but was within walking distance to the shops and beaches. Sue was extremely thoughtful and we hope the house is available when we next visit the region.
