Description

Bushy Park Homestead is well equipped and fully self-contained, with everything you need for a relaxing break in the Snowy Mountains.

The historic country residence sitting on 160 alpine acres has recently been rebuilt by local craftsmen and is now available to rent for wonderful family holidays.

Keeping with the original design, the homestead has been restored in its original timber slab construction method and contains all the modern comforts whilst providing stylish accommodation for up to eight guests. Inside you will find 2 large bedrooms, 2 lounge areas (one containing double bunks), 2 bathrooms and a great combined kitchen/dining area.

Additionally, a covered patio area and a large deck allows for outdoor entertaining and BBQ'ing.
With a landscaped lawn area covering about 3 acres, you will find plenty of space to park your boats and trailers, kick a ball with the kids or stretch the legs.

Activities

Jindabyne is nestled next to Kosciuszko National Park. Covering 690,000 hectares, it is the largest in NSW and contains the highest mountain on mainland Australia, Mount Kosciusko, which stands 2228 metres high, the famous Snowy River and all NSW ski fields.

Apart from snow-sports, its many attractions include the clear expanse of lake Jindabyne, walks through alpine herbfields, spectacular caves and limestone gorges, scenic 4x4 drives, and historic huts and homesteads.

The ski season is between June and late October and once the snow melts at the end of the season the activities continue: water-skiing, bushwalking, camping, canoeing, 4x4 driving, chairlift rides, fishing, golfing, horse riding, mountain biking, sailing, swimming, thermal pools, alpine flowers, art galleries, mountain musters, museums, music festivals rainforests, and trout farming.

Just a 10 minute drive to Jindabyne or a 35 minute drive to the premier NSW ski resorts you will find Bushy Park the perfect base to explore the region. Be as active as you like or just enjoy the peace and quiet by sitting on the deck in the sun watching and listening to the wildlife.

With so much room to park your boats, bike trailers, horse floats and the like yo will never have any crowding issues.

Snowy Region Visitor Information Centre is conveniently located between Jindabyne's two shopping centres on Kosciuszko Road.

• Sleeps up to 8 guests in two double bedrooms plus lounge-rooms, although we feel that a 6 guest maximum is optimal.
• Bedding configuration is 1 x queen, 1 x double, 2 x bunks and 1 x double sofa beds.
• Fully equipped hand-made timber kitchen with dishwasher, microwave, oven, full size fridge / freezer and pantry.
• Laundry facilities.
• Two bathrooms including one bath and separate toilet.
• Lounge room with relaxing gas fire place and Digital TV.
Kitchen/dining contains stereo with MP3.
• Additional lounge with DVD TV and bunk beds.
• Great combined kitchen/dining area with slow combustion log fireplace and 10 seat dining table with stereo.
• Outdoor BBQ facilities.

• Located at East Jindabyne just off the Highway driving South from Canberra or Sydney and just a 10 minute drive to Jindabyne (or a 35 minute drive to the premier NSW ski resorts).

Weekly bookings are from Saturday to Saturday. (This enables skiers to take advantage of the free Sunday afternoon tickets when buying a 5 day pass.)

A deposit of 25% is required to hold booking.
Full payment is required upon booking to confirm your booking. Booking must be fully paid 28 days in advance.
In the unfortunate event of a cancellation, 28 days notice is required for full refund (less a $50 administration fee). If less than 14 days notice is given, no refund unless the accommodation is re-booked for the same rate, then a full refund applies (less a $50 administration fee).
A port-a-cot is available on request.
Pets welcome by arrangement, outdoors only.

Driving directions:
Bushy Park is located just off the main highway between Canberra and Jindabyne, about 10kms north of town.

Driving south from Sydney/Canberra, travel a further 18kms after passing through Berridale. Slow down after crossing Giekel Creek bridge as you will turn left into the gravel clearing immediately following Rushes Creek. Proceed through the farm gate, cross 2 cattle grids and then turn left on the gravel road into Bushy Park.

Driving north from Jindabyne, you will cross the dam wall and then pass East Jindabyne (petrol station and general store) on the left. As the road merges from two lanes into one at the top of the hill, indicate early and turn off to the right into the gravel clearing. Proceed through the farm gate, cross 2 cattle grids and then turn left on the gravel road
