The old-English style electric fireplace helps creates a cosy atmosphere even on the coldest night. With 1200 thread count linen and Sleepmaker mattresses, you are assured of a great night's sleep. Cooks Hill Chalets is the ideal place to enjoy spending time with both family and friends both before and after your wedding celebrations. The beautiful interior is perfect for pre-wedding photos, where features such as the old-world mirrors, stained glass doors and Juliet Balcony are a photographers delight.
At the end of the residential block, the beautiful fig trees of Council Street can provide a magnificent backdrop for outdoor photographs.
Brides can remove the stress of worrying about lunch for family and guests while they are getting ready for the wedding with our range of gourmet sandwiches, wraps, and selection of fresh fruit and cheese. These can be ordered on a per person basis.
The property at Dawson St comfortably sleeps 5 people with existing bedding, while extra bedding is available. Parents and grandparents of the bride will appreciate all the little luxuries provided, while still feeling as if they are at home. Centrally located, close family and friends can return to the Chalet after the wedding to unwind and further enjoy each other's company.
Alternatively, the master bedroom is ideal for the married couple to share on the wedding night, before leaving for their honeymoon.

Not only did it give the girls an elegant setting to get dressed and have photos, it gave the rest of us (mum, dad, sister, auntie) a wonderful holiday experience. My family and I had a wedding in Newcastle and stayed at Cooks Hill Chalets for a week. Even before we arrived at the accommodation I felt very confident that we had chosen well, as Jacqui Harvey the owner was prompt and attentive with communication. With two young children it is always difficult to find the 'right' accommodation. When we arrived at Cooks Hill Chalets the house was great blend of character and functionality and was everything that was promised from the website images. The highlights for us were the location, very homey, backyard with BBQ and entertaining area, King size bed and having separate bedrooms for us all. As we no longer live in Newcastle but have many friends still living there, Cooks Hill Chalets was the perfect place to catch up, relax and cherish these special times. I was in Newcastle last week as Maid of Honor for a friends wedding. The bride, groom, groomsman and I (along with a couple of other friends) stayed at Cooks Hill Chalets for four nights over the duration of the wedding.
We found the accommodation to be absolutely superb. The location was idylic with Newcastles best cafes and shops a two minute stroll away.
The house and garden itself, also exceeded every expectation (and based on the great quality of the photos online, our expectations were very high).
Every detail was catered for ... from gorgeous artwork, and flowers, and feautures throughout the house to MOR product gift bags for each guest, slippers, beautiful towels, luxurious throw rugs and even a drawer full of great DVDs for the kids.
The venue proved the perfect location for pre wedding photos. It was was big enough to comfortably accommodate the scores of well wishers passing through each day to congratulate the happy couple (and had sufficient space for the rest of us to escape to a different part of the house when we needed some relaxing time out.
The garden was perfectly groomed and house immaculately clean and sparkling. Each bedroom had all the comforts of home (even the study with an airbed as comfortable as a regular double bed).
We found Cooks Hill Chalets to be excellent value for money (far cheaper and so much nicer than any hotel equivalent), and would thoroughly recommend it to any wedding party, or other special event.
Cooks Hill Chalets could not have been more perfect and made our Newcastle visit so special from start to finish.
A huge thank you to Jacqui and all at Cooks Hill Chalets for the wonderful service, and facilities you provided, we look forward to staying at your establishment again in the near future.

Cooks Hill Chalet was an absolutely wonderful choice for our bridal party residence - the house itself is beautiful (so is perfect for wedding prep photos!), and very well appointed.
They have truly thought of everything, from a kitchen well stocked with all the basics, to a fully functional laundry, home cinema and even welcome chocolates and champagne. The staff were so lovely to deal with, made the whole experience in the lead up effortless. My only regret is that we didn't stay longer - I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this property to friends and family!

I would recommend this property without any hesitation.
I stayed at the cook hill chalets for a 2 week period visiting Newcastle on Business.
We found the property to be like a home away from home, very clean and comfortable with a lovely back garden and all the amenities you would need to make a short or long stay enjoyable.
The property has everything you could want and is situated in a fantastic location with a 5 minute walk to Darby Street which is home to some of Newcastle���s great caf�����s & restaurants.

From the moment you arrive at Cooks Hill Chalets, you know you are in for a very special experience! We walked through the front door and immediately felt the peaceful, relaxing, welcoming ambience of the cottage. Walking through the well appointed and beautifully decorated rooms we sensed that every detail had been considered to make our stay as enjoyable and as comfortable as possible. The generous size and layout of the accommodation is well suited to couples and families. The location is great! Short easy stroll to cafes, eateries and shops and so close to the city centre. We found it very hard to leave and look forward to staying in the future. We also appreciated the ease and the attention that our enquiry and booking was given. All round delightful experience! Highly recommended, you will not disappointed!
