Offering the perfect combination of tranquility, relaxation, beauty and ease of access, Macleay Island forms the setting for each of the Curious Cottages. Access to the island begins at Redland Bay, just 45 minutes from Brisbane CBD (or 60 minutes from the Gold Coast).
Without a car - Modern, comfortable passenger ferries to Macleay Island cost as little as $16.60 return per person. They run approximately every 30 minutes between 5:00am and midnight (10:30pm Sunday - Thursday), departing from Banana Street, Redland Bay. Passenger ferries are also available from Macleay Island to the surrounding islands, giving you the perfect opportunity to explore and enjoy the surrounding beauty. Timetables and the full fee schedule are available, please contact us for more information. Once on the island, make use of Macleay Island Taxi Service to get around - we can provide you with their contact number upon request.
With a car - For that added bit of convenience, take your car (or a rental vehicle) over to the island with Stradbroke Ferries for as little as $112 return*, departing regularly from 1 Weinam Sreet, Redland Bay. Macleay Island has sealed and unsealed roads that are accessible by conventional, two-wheel-drive vehicles. For timetables and the full fee schedule, please contact us for more information.
