It has a village atmosphere with coffee shops, restaurants, art gallery, supermarket, bottle shop, video shop, hairdresser and dry cleaner. It is on the main North Shore train line and only one stop from North Sydney where you will find larger shopping centres, banks etc. The city is another 2 stops away. In the other direction, the major shopping area of Chatswood is only 10 mins by train and Crows Nest with many shops and restaurants is a short bus or car trip. The area has extensive harbourside bushland and the house is close to the Sydney Harbourside walk. Historic Balls Head peninsula has spectacular harbour and city views.

  • "Delightful place to stay. Very clean with lovely extra facilities like a CD player and Radio. The view from the main bedroom is fantastic. Also liked living in a suburb with the locals and away from the tourists. Reccommended"

  • "Look, booking from interstate, you never really know if the property will be like a)described and b) how it was photographed. This property exceeded my expectations. if anything the photos and description don't do it justice. Its close to the train station with a bottleshop and little store near by. the water views are real and it was great to look over the water from the balcony. The owner has thought of everything, when even semi-peculiar things for cooking, were easily located. The place was clean and i greatly enjoyed my stay. the owner was very accomodating when flight plans were changed and i required a slight extension on check out time to enable me not to just be standing at the airport. It made my short holiday in Sydney, a fantastic and enjoyable experience."

  • "Harbourside is the front half of a North Shore house (turn of the century?) that has been sympathetically renovated to create a very cosy 3 level apartment. On the entrance level there is a small TV room and then down the passageway and down half a dozen steps to an open plan kitchen, dining, living opening to a deck ? all overlooking Wollstonecraft Bay . It is very nicely furnished and equipped. Upstairs is a large bedroom (similar view) and bathroom. On the lower level is a utility room with laundry and computer. This opens out into a small garden. We have been 4 times and will certainly come again. Its in Waverton which is three stops over the bridge on the Northern line ? it?s a lovely wee village with a couple of excellent cafes - Withams who roast their own beans and Finks who serve good coffee. Also a very good Thai restaurant (Sweet Chilli Jam combo is the dish to go for) called Stir Crazy. There is an excellent train service and it takes about seven minutes to get to town."

  • "Great place to stay - despite the bad weather the house and its views made up for it. Very close to station. Would love to go back. Olga"
