Description

Tanglewood is a two storey rammed earth and timber house ideal for groups or families wanting self-contained holiday accommodation close to Margaret River, local wineries, and the beaches.

The house is spacious with a large main lounge, dining room, TV/family room and a fully equipped luxury kitchen. There are 6 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms which easily accommodate up to 13 guests in comfort and privacy.

In warm weather the rammed earth keeps the house beautifully cool, and the slow combustion fire warms the house on cooler days.

Throughout the year the shady verandas invite you to enjoy the peaceful bush while sipping your glass of local wine.

Facilities

The main upstairs bedroom has a kingsize double bed and ensuite bathroom. There are three other bedrooms upstairs and another two downstairs, as well as two additional bathrooms, one with separate toilet.

All linen is supplied, with the exception of beach towels. Cots and high chairs can be hired from the caretakers.

The kitchen is fully equipped with generous quantities of crockery, cutlery and glassware, as well as a microwave, dishwasher and fridge/freezer. There is also a separate laundry containing an automatic washing machine, tumble-dryer and a large fridge suitable for drinks.

The entertainment area includes extensive verandas, with garden furniture and barbeques, a comfortable lounge and a family room equipped with TV, DVD and CD player.

Local attractions

Tanglewood is ideally positioned to explore the surrounding area. It is within easy reach of world-class wineries, restaurants, popular swimming and surfing beaches, caves, bushwalking trails as well as a whole range of excellent local arts and craft galleries.

It is five minutes by car to Margaret River town or to the beaches at Prevelly, Gnarabup (safe bathing), Surfer’s Point and Rivermouth or lots of other idyllic secret spots.

For the energetic, the local Golf Club (18 grass greens) is a stone's throw away. There is also easy access to all the walk trails that wind through the local bush or follow the coastline, providing magnificent views of the surrounding areas.

This is now the sixth visit from the C... and McI... families over the space of the last four years; the first was in January 2006. As per usual, we have thoroughly enjoyed our stay and have enjoyed the beaches, wineries and just sitting about. We hope to return soon.

We first came here 2002 or 2003? Leeuwin Estate, James Taylor. Had a brilliant time but until this year we weren't able to book Tanglewood. This time we booked and then rearranged our lives! Since Richard & Marie-Louise took over it has been beautifully "refreshed". All our rooms are truly luxurious and private. We can have our fabulous dinners with the great equipment available. Putting water in the bird baths rewarded us with a fantail and a red breasted robin and numerous finches. Glorious misty mornings and sunny days at the beach, the odd winery lunch/dinner - fantastic.

Our family reunion was a wonderful experience in a fabulous house with all the comforts of home. The bush setting was breathtaking, we enjoyed looking at the wildlife and native plants. When I travel back to England I will remember this week for the rest of my life.
