Retreat Homestead (circa 1912) is a beautifully and sympathetically restored country homestead, recapturing its once majestic presence yet incorporating a few modern conveniences to make your stay that much more memorable.
Set on over 150 hectares of prime agricultural land and glorious natural bushland at the foot of the Wollemi National Park at Jerry's Plains in the Upper Hunter Valley, 'Retreat' is exactly what the name implies, a perfect get away to relax and escape for a short while or an extended period from the hustle and bustle of modern day life.
There are three beautifully appointed bedrooms (sleeping up to 6) and a magnificent woodfire heater to enjoy in the colder months. It is fully self contained, with full kitchen, dining/family room, bathroom, bbq and outdoor eating area. You can enjoy the magnificent sunrise or enjoy a glass of your favourite on the verandah as you watch the day draw to an end. There are bush walks a plenty and an abundance of wildlife for you to enjoy.
Retreat Homestead is located an easy 3 hour drive from Sydney, 1.5 hours from Newcastle. We are at the gateway to the Upper Hunter wineries, Wollemi National Park and the famous Upper Hunter thoroughbred studs. The world acclaimed Coolmore Stud is only minutes away by car.
