About Waragil Cottage
About Waragil Cottage:
Waragil Cottage is a heritage home nestled in a quiet hollow of Blackheath.
The cottage is 5 minutes’ walk from the village and 5 minutes from the Centennial Glen walking and rock climbing access trails.
We offer self-contained accommodation for shorter term or holiday rental.
Longer periods of rental may be available upon enquiry.
Waragil Cottage accommodates up to 8 people.
Children are welcome.
Waragil Cottage has a long rambling and shady garden
– perfect for sunny day BBQ’s and relaxing with the kids.
The front porch, with a north-eastern aspect is a great place for sunny breakfasts and the rear sun-room gathers the heat in the afternoon.
Lounge Room with “Futon” Sofa Bed
A CD player / MP3 player / Radio, with an eclectic selection of CDs, is available for your listening pleasure.
*There is no television in Waragil Cottage - Love the serenity !
Our Location
Waragil Cottage is nestled in a quiet hollow at 20 Waragil Street.
The cottage is 110Km by road from Sydney CBD,
and is only 250 metres easy walk from Blackheath Train Station, on the Blue Mountains Line.
Train travel time:
from Sydney Central = 2 hrs 15 min.
from Sydney Airport = 2 hrs 45 min.

Waragil Cottage accommodates up to 8 people.
Waragil Cottage is a smoke free house.
For Infants & Children
Children are welcome at Waragil Cottage.
Two “Port-a-Cots” and a high chair are provided in the cottage.
The Family Bed Room has a double bed and two fold-up single bed futons, for older children.
There are children’s books, a box of toys, and a huge back garden.
Bedrooms
There is a Main Bed Room with a double bed.
The Family Bed Room sleeps up to four with a double bed and two fold-up single bed futons.
There is also a sunny “sleep out” room with a single bed.
The lounge room sofa folds down as a double futon bed, for extra capacity..
DUVET QUILTS, BLANKETS, PILLOWS, PILLOW PROTECTORS & MATTRESS COVERS ARE PROVIDED.
LINEN & TOWELS MAY BE AVAILABLE FOR AN ADDITIONAL CHARGE

For the chefs – the kitchen is well equipped and has a gas stove – have fun !

Heating & Hot Water
For colder days, the gas fired convection heater in the lounge room is very effective.
There are column heaters in each bedroom, and electric blankets on all of the beds.
THE COTTAGE IS SUPPLIED WITH 100% “GREEN CHOICE” ELECTRICITY
– from accredited renewable sources.
Waragil Cottage is equipped with a gas hot water system – so you should never run out.
Laundry
There is an automatic washing machine, an automatic clothes dryer for wet days,
and a traditional outdoor “Hills Hoist”.
Cleaning & Maintenance
Waragil Cottage is professionally cleaned after each letting, only.
Cleaning utensils, vacuum cleaner and solvents are available for your use.
The gardens are maintained regularly by a gardening service.
Telecommunications
There is no telephone provided in Waragil Cottage.
Mobile telephone and 3G mobile internet coverage is good in Blackheath.
Internet
Mobile 3G internet is available in Blackheath.
There is a complimentary internet service for patrons at the Ivanhoe Hotel. Some of the cafes and the Gardiner’s Inn offer internet services as well.
Walks & Rock Climbing
near Waragil Cottage
The Mt Boyce area is 20-30 min easy walk from Waragil Cottage.
Mt Boyce offers great views over the Kanimbla Valley. There are lots of waratahs and often lyre birds.
For the climbers, there is fantastic multi-pitch climbing for all levels of climber.
A track continues all the way to the Fairy Bower picnic area & Mt Piddington at Mt Victoria.
