Merricks Beach House is a striking, contemporary holiday home designed for relaxation and fabulous indoor/outdoor entertaining. Ideal for families or couples, this holiday house provides plenty of room across three levels.
Upstairs offers a spacious and comfortable open-plan living, dining and kitchen area with ample lounges and seating, further enhanced by access to a choice of two large outdoor elevated decks.
Enjoy breakfast on the north-facing front deck in bright morning sunshine, or afternoon drinks on the rear deck, which captures all the afternoon sun. Recline on a lounge, play chess, watch the abundant wildlife and simply relax into the peace and quiet. There is a BBQ and an outdoor granite table setting for eight, perfect for extending your outdoor living experience into the evening.
From the rear deck you can keep an eye out for children playing in the large, fenced backyard complete with swings, monkey bars, roman rings suspended from a tree, a trampoline and basketball ring. The backyard also provides for a camping style experience with a large fire pit perfect for toasting marshmallows!
The ground level downstairs offers a second cosy living area, access to the undercover secure carport, and steps to the mezzanine bedroom/bathroom level. Three large bedrooms comfortably accommodate six people.
The King Suite features a walk through robe to the ensuite shower room. The Queen room has plenty of storage space in the triple robe, as does the 2 x Single bedroom. This room is also furnished with a pull out double sofa bed, which may accommodate up to an additional 2 people. The King Suite and Queen bedroom are carpeted; the rest of the house has tiled flooring. The main bathroom, laundry and separate toilet are centrally located on this level.
Air-conditioning and hydronic heating keep the temperature just right all year. For extra luxury in cooler months, feel the comfort and warmth of under floor tile heating in the ensuite, main bathroom and toilet.
The beach is only 500 metres away so it is an easy walk or ride from the house. There are different access routes and safe swimming areas to sample - you can spend time near the yacht club and dunes, or the rock pools and cliffs. Plenty of space is available to store beach gear and bikes under the carport, where you will also find the hot/cold outdoor shower to refresh and rinse off after a day by the sea.
Merricks Beach is a unique destination on beautiful Westernport Bay, and only a 1-hour drive from Melbourne. Dirt roads and natural vegetation add to the charm of this semi-rural locality. The beach is perfect for swimming and snorkelling. The patrolled surf beach at Point Leo is only a 10 minute drive. This wonderful location is between 5 and 45 minutes from all the major attractions of the Mornington Peninsula. 5 minutes to the nearest winery, 10 minutes to Flinders, 20 Minutes to Dromana and 45 minutes to Portsea. You can enjoy all that this area has to offer knowing that you have a comfortable, relaxing holiday house to return to after a day out.
For those staying at Merricks Beach House over the warmer months and summer school holidays, Merricks Yacht Club offers an affordable 'Temporary Monthly Membership' for families who wish to use the club facilities. Join in on the sailing and social functions for kids and adults and/or bring your sailing dinghy or catamaran to sail at beautiful Merricks Beach. Ask the owners for details.
