Tranquil Bay Retreat nestles on a small secluded peninsular situated at Rosedale South, which is one of many small delightful bays and coves located between Bateman’s Bay and Moruya in New South Wales’ Eurobodalla Coast. This very private peninsular is a haven for nature lovers, being a delightful Spotted Gum forest, with trees rising straight and tall through an abundant undergrowth of prehistoric Burrawangs and tree ferns.
Sitting at the eastern extremity of the peninsular, provides the opportunity for whale and dolphin watching. Tranquil Bay, Nuns Cove and the lookout are all no more than 2-3 minutes walk from the house.
Tranquil Bay Retreat is a uniquely designed home, winning an Australian design award for superb use of Timber. The property is one of several unique properties within this much sought after, secluded peninsular. Constructed entirely of weathered red cedar timber, six main living pavilions are connected by sheltered verandas.
Of the five pavilions, three are double bedrooms featuring Asian and rattan furnishing, all blended tastefully with the unique rich timber features of the home. All rooms have en – suite showers and toilets being designed in a manner, again to give the impression of showering within the forest and being at one with nature.
All have large wardrobe and hanging spaces with coffee and tea making facilities. All bedding, linen, and towels are also provided. No need to be concerned with bringing anything but clothes and food. A private balcony off each bedroom pavilion provides individual forest or beach views. Each has been designed to maximize the tranquility of the property and wherever possible have been constructed around native trees and plants
The main living pavilion is completely surrounded by a large porch that has been built to take full advantage of the 180 degree views of the splendid forest and sea views. Included is a bar-be-que and outdoor dinning setting.
A feature of the main pavilion is an open fire place (for those cool winter evenings) above the open fireplace is a loft bedroom capable of sleeping two children. Again the main living pavilion features an abundance of wood and contemporary custom made furniture. Entertainment and games areas are set around the fireplace.
Within the living pavilion is an ultra-modern kitchen complete with all facilities necessary to ensure that either a lavish dinner or simple beans on toast can be produced, depending on the mood of the chef. Within the kitchen, all utensils crockery and cutlery are provided to cater for the maximum accommodation of 12. All that you need to provide is the food and drink. Dishwasher, convection micro-wave and bench top cooking are all elegantly designed into this award winning room. A complete entertainment system is also provided in the living area including TV, DVD and CD players. In addition there is reading material and board games provided.
A fourth pavilion provides a kids retreat with 2 sets of double bunks and a double fold out bed. This kids retreat also has its own shower and toilet facilities. In order to make this kids retreat fully self contained a TV and DVD player is provided. This pavilion has an adjacent facilities pavilion providing washing machine and dryer and a storage facility for wetsuits, surfboards golf clubs etc.
Although being a secluded property nestled within a forest, Tranquil Bay Retreat is only 15 minutes from Bateman’s Bay with it’s many first class restaurants and clubs. Moruya is another picturesque old world coastal town and is also only 15 minutes from the property.
Particularly for the kids, 5 minutes away is Old Mogo Town, famous for its boutique Zoo, gold mining town and quaint shopping village
