HOBART what's on offer near US!!
The precinct of North Hobart has developed as a unique restaurant & art strip. Today there are over 20 restaurants of varied culinary delights to tempt the taste buds, all located within easy walking distance from our cottages.

A few of our favourites being Annapurna - Southern & Northern Indian cuisine, Vanidols - Asian cuisine, Dede - Indonesian & Thai, Amulet - fine dining experience!

Artworks are to be found at a number of galleries as you stroll the Elizabeth St precinct - Dick Bett Gallery featuring ever changing artworks from all over Australia and having an excellent reputation for fine collectable art.
Just a 10 minute stroll down Murray St takes one into the heart of historic Hobart. Don't miss the Allport Collection housed at the Library in Murray St; it's a stunning collection of memorabilia.

Every child’s favourite is the Cat & Fiddle Arcade where the clock chimes on the hour & all the animals perform. 20 years ago even we stopped with our children on our first visit to Tassie to experience this unique clock.

Salamanca Markets & the wharf front at Constitution docks (just 15 min walk) is home to the finish of the famous Sydney to Hobart yacht race and throughout the year is a vibrant colour of sea life, whether it is the fishing fleet in port or just the visiting yachts from all parts of the world. Enjoy the wonderful new resurrection of the Henry Jones IXL building, now featuring galleries, restaurants and shops.

Guest Reviews

  • "The Devonshire cottage is a beautiful, well equipped cottage set within an excellent location in North Hobart. The local scene has many first class restuarant's within walking distance. Kitchen is well equipped if you feel like cooking, if not then local food is easy and of good quality. The upstairs bedroom has a steep staircase, but well worth the effort if you can make it! The owners run a professional establishment and were extremely helpful which made our stay even better. Many thanks."

  • "Appleisle Cottages(Murray cottage), was a great home away from home. We were made to feel welcome, the minute we set foot inside. It had everything we needed and more. Was lovely to meet Julie, who said we could use things out of the garden, so thanks for the lovely roses and deliciously fresh lettuce & rocket. Just wish we had more time to just sit and relax. Oh well next time. "

  • "We really enjoyed staying here. It was a cute little cottage that gave us a lot of space for our three day stay. We appreciated the breakfast supplies in the fridge. It was conveniently located and the beds were very comfortable. Lost of information and brochures. "
