Guest Reviews

  • "We spent a fantastic weekend here with my parents, who were visiting from the UK. The house is beautifully finished, well equipped, and the perfect size for 2 couples. It is built on stilts and felt very much like staying in a luxury tree house. The wrap around terrace offers great views through the trees to the lake. The lush and well kept garden runs right down to the waters edge, where the owners have left a 2 person kayak and a row boat for guest use. Having the boats to use really added to our experience, and we spent much of our time out on the lake fishing or swimming. The lake felt very private, in fact we hardly saw another person on it. My Step Dad was even brave enough to take a skinny dip at sunset. The location is great being only a short drive from Seal Rocks and its fantastic beaches. Laura Thank you for a great weekend it really made my parents trip. "

  • "Simply the best... The house is much better than it looks and you will find everything you need. It was great to use the boat and enjoy the beauty of the lake from the balcony. Very close to Seal Rocks (open light house) and 25 min drive to Forster. By the way- you will love the drive to Bungwhal.... Enjoy "

  • "Thoroughly enjoyable - The family loved the view, sunsets , no close neighbours, rowing and canoeing on the lake, the hammock & all the comforts of the house - a beautiful, relaxing, ambient environment."

  • "The location and setting are great. You can leave the busy world behind to just rewind and relax. I can just gaze at the lake: so quiet & serene for hours Or turn your head around and up hill are the cows grazing on the pasture. So close to nature with all the modern facilities of a city house."

  • "Arrived at Tuppys in the pouring rain. We were delighted when entering the house to discover that there was a fire place with lots of dry timber. In between making ourselves very comfortable, we (Mary, Janet, Mollie and Matilda (the latter two being schnauzers) perused the edge of the lake, which is magnificent viewed from either the verandah or close up and personal. We loved the birds. We spotted many varieties some on the lake and others around the house, probably attracted by bottle brush that were already in flower. We were very excited by the tiny finches that visited us on the verandah. I,d forgotten what rainwater tasted like and how soft it is when washing hair. And there's more, a real coffee machine, how's that for indulgance. Couldn't find a thing to complain about (drat). Almost forgot to tell you there is a beehive developing in a tree next to where the boat is tied. Hope we get there again before the honey harvest. Many, many thanks Janet and Mary Matilda and Mollie (woof, woof)"
