Grassmere
Grassmere is a stunning highlands property uniquely set by a private lake. It is the perfect country escape with animals, gardens, paddocks and your own forest to explore, yet so close to the villages of Berrima, Bowral and Mittagong.

The house is positioned on 120 acres by a picturesque 20 acre lake. It is serene and very special with the sounds of nature from a variety of bird life around the lake.
Take a walk across the bridge to the island for a picnic, relax on the swing seats in the gardens or take a stroll along the 700m private road.
We do have a small beach on the island to relax or enjoy some summer swimming, with floatation devices provided.
There are plenty of indoor and outdoor activities for the whole family to enjoy quality time together including table tennis, billiards, air hockey, xbox, a video library, rowing, biking, fishing, soccer, basketball and nature walks. The property is home to much wildlife including kangaroos, wombats, rabbits, frogs and various birds and ducks.
Feed the parrots in the aviary and collect fresh eggs from your chickens for breakfast. The horses love some attention too (especially if you have some carrots to treat them!).
Nearby attractions include wine tasting down the road at Joadja winery, scenic flights, historic towns, village shopping, cinema and bowling.
The house
Spacious, well appointed and comfortable house furnished with beautiful french antique pieces, very cosy beds will provide for a warm country experience.
The house has climate control to keep you warm in winter and cool in summer.
The house has 4 bedrooms:
- An enormous master bedroom with walk in robe and ensuite has a king bed as well as a 2 seater lounge with french doors opening to the verandah and stunning views of the lake.
- 2nd bedroom with queen bed, also with walk in robe, ensuite and french doors opening onto courtyard.
- 3rd bedroom has 3 single beds, walk in robe and ensuite.
- 4th bedroom with king bed is an open room to the hallway and does not provide privacy. We usually use this room for the younger children, but it is a perfectly comfortable and well appointed room for adults as well.
All rooms have plenty of hanging space and drawers, so no problem unpacking all of your belongings for those long vacations. All ensuite bathrooms have showers.
You have a fully appointed large kitchen with 2 ovens, microwave, dishwasher, full cooking and eating facilities. Rustic farm table that seats 8.
Separate dining room with large table that seats 10 with fireplace.
Large lounge room with fireplace, 46" LCD TV for xbox and videos (sorry but we do not always capture the TV signals!)
Dining room and lounge room looks out to lake and paddocks with french doors opening to the verandah.
Enjoy breakfast on the benches outside in the garden or relax on the verandah seats.
Shed with table tennis, billiard table and air hockey.
