Description
Wake up to the vast panorama of the Pacific Ocean outside your bedroom window. Open the front door and start your day with an gentle stroll along the kilometer long crescent shaped Mollymook beach. Turn right to head to the south end of the beach where you can buy your daily newspaper and enjoy your first cafe stop at the Mollymook Beach Life Savers cafe, or turn left to the northern headland of the beach, and climb up the cliff path to reach Rick Steins famous establishment, open for day visitors to breakfast beside the infinity horizon swimming pool with its magnificent views across to the blue of the Pacific Ocean beyond.
Back at the house, a choice of 3 decks awaits you, allowing you to choose just the right setting for planning your day's activities, or stretching out to the sound of the surf and warmth of the sun, to just laze around and do nothing.
The house is a two story brick residence, in a large garden setting located on Beach Road at the northern end of Mollymook Beach. The upstairs floor has two large bedrooms, - a master bedroom, with magnificent ocean views, and a second bedroom with 2 single beds, a living room, dining room and well fitted out kitchen. Front and back verandahs extend off these living rooms. Downstairs is a large family room with double bed, kitchenette, and living area, and a second childrens' bedroom with 2 bunk beds.
There are two bathrooms, two toilets, a laundry, double garage, and outdoor BBQ .
LAYOUT and AMENITIES
Upstairs and downstairs can be let separately in the off peak season. Each has their own entrance and can accomodate up to 6 people.
The UPSTAIRS apartment, with the best views, has a masterbedroom with queen bed and second bedroom with 2 single beds which, when pushed together, serve as a king bed. It has a full kitchen, large dining room, with an extendable table capable of seating up to12 people, living room with large flat screen TV/DVD, outdoor dining table on front balcony with ocean views, and a smaller deck with BBQ to the north facing back garden. The TV room, can be closed off from the dining room with a sliding door. It has a sofa bed/couch which can be used as a second double bedroom at night.
The DOWNSTAIRS FAMILY apartment, also with ocean views, has the parents double bed in the living room. It has a small kitchenette, comfortable lounge, flat screen TV/DVD dining area and separate bathroom and toilet. The childrens' bedroom has 2 single bunk beds.
THINGS TO DO WHILST RELAXING AT SWELL
Mollymook shopping centre is only a 2 minute walk away, offering supermarket, delicatessen, chemist, butchers, newsagent, takeaway food and liquor shop.
The world famous Rick Stein Restaurant at Bannisters Lodge is a 5 minute walk up to the headland. See our information pack for details of breakfast, lunch and dinner menus' as well as information on the pool / pizza bar and day spa at Bannister Lodge. Courtesy buses, or taxi services are available throughout the local area, for that special night out.
The biggest nearby town is Ulladulla, well known fishing harbour and only 5 minutes drive south of Mollymook. It has one of the busiest fishing ports on the South Coast with commercial fishing trawlers setting out most evenings, as well as good shopping, supermarkets, restaurants, cafes, cinema, an indoor leisure centre for gym, spa, indoor heated or outdoor pools, Ulladulla Harbour sea pool,ten pin bowling. and a funpark for the children. Fishing and diving charters operate from the harbour all year round.
The historical township of Milton is a short 5 minute drive into the hinterland. There one can visit the street markets, antique shops, boutiques, restaurants and cafes, tennis hire, or stop for a beer at one of the 2 family friendly country pubs before catching a show at the historic Milton Theatre.
An ever increasing number of local wineries in the surrounding countryside offer fine dining amidst rolling green hills and beautiful sunsets whilst sampling some of the best local wines.
Golf is available at Mollymook Hilltop 18 hole championship golf course, one of the most challenging courses in the state, or a more leisurely 9 hole course at the picturesque Mollymook Golf course, located on the beach. The licenced club house offers after play drinks, a restaurant and live bands at weekends.
Popular bushwalks are nearby, at Pidgeon House Mountain or Boyd Lookout in the Budawangs. The Castle offers a challenge for the more experienced walker. Local maps are avaiable from the Tourist information or maps for more challenging walks can be obtained from National Parks.
A short drive up the coast to Jervis Bay to visit the pristine white sands and crystal clear water of Hyams Beach and Greenpatch in Jervis Bay National Park makes a nice day out.
