Description
Woodend Cottage is a 2 bedroom self-contained private quintessential French Provincial Farmhouse Style Cottage. Opened in October 2012 the complete interior renovation offers high quality modern fixtures and fittings but keeping a country rustic appearance that makes your stay cosy and luxurious. Based on the French Provincial style the entire cottage has had attention to detail throughout. It also set in a large landscaped garden including vast lawn and established trees.
The property is fully equipped and can accommodate up to 4 adults (1 queen size and 2 singles). The second bedroom can be converted into a king size bed with prior notification. Nestled amongst the gum trees the cottage comprises spacious open plan living dining, as well as generous outside barbecue and dining vista in a private pristine location.
Positioned up on the hill the accommodation takes full use of its surrounds. The cottage is perfectly equipped to cope with the uniquely extreme weather patterns of the Macedon Ranges, including reverse cycle heating-cooling, and for those romantic evenings, a wood fire heater warms up the cottage to create the cosy feeling.
If you wish to escape to the country with your extended family the cottage is pet friendly on negotiation.
The flora and fauna at Woodend Cottage offers visitors a veritable taste of an uniquely Aussie experience. In addition to the occasional Kangaroo and Echidna, take a glimpse up to the skies and you may be lucky enough to encounter Keano the resident Koala. Wake up to the sound of the Kookaburras and listen to the frog symphony when the sun goes down. At night admire the stars, simply astonishing!
Comfort & Dining
Wood fire heater, panel and convection heating in both bedrooms and bathroom, all luxury Egyptian cotton linen are provided. The king size quilt/doona filling is made from our very own Alpaca wool courtesy of Eric and Jason who reside at the cottage. The second bedroom has two singles (or King Bed) with queen doonas for extra comfort.
The cottage boast a fully equipped farm house kitchen. Included in your breakfast provisions are free range eggs from the chicken coop, homemade bread, spreads, cereal, fresh coffee pods that can be used with the Nespresso machine and a wide selection of teas.
Outdoors there is a vast entertaining area including seating and a BBQ. A stocked herb garden and fruit trees (in season) is available for guests. On the porch is a daybed perfect for that good read. We even have a four poster bed for your adored pooch.
If like us you enjoy eating out on an escape, the area is vast becoming one of the best cafe and restaurant experiences in any regional area in Australia. We would be happy to point you in the right direction.
Entertaining & Local Attractions
A LED Flat screen TV, Blu-ray and a variety of in-house movies are available. If you would like to bring your digital files the TV accepts USB connectivity. Bring your iPod/iphone/ipad to play your favourite music on our docking station.
"Woodend Cottage" is the perfect vantage point to visit the many attractions including Hanging Rock, Mount Macedon, Trentam and Daylesford.
