My husband and I stayed at Readshaw Cottage to celebrate his 50th birthday. Readshaw more than met our expectations: it was very private, comfortable and is set in a lovely cottage garden. Some of the features that particularly impressed us were the king sized bed (most B&B's have either double or queen), the very generous and delicious breakfast provisions which were more than enough for our stay of 2 nights, and the pod coffee machine. This is a fantastic addition as it was very simple to use and provided us with quality coffee, rather than the usual instant or plunger (though for those who prefer, a plunger is provided also).
Maldon shops are a short and pleasant walk away and there is a good variety of shops and eating places to be found there. I would not hesitate to recommend Readshaw Cottage for a relaxing weekend away in a beautiful and historical area, which is an easy drive from Melbourne.

My husband and I had a lovely weekend in Maldon.
We found Readshaw Cottage to be the perfect place to stay. The cottage itself is clean and fresh and beautifully furnished. A very comfortable king size bed, lovely big bathroom, light and bright with lots of windows, T.V, air conditioning and a lovely little verandah. The owners Robyn & Ian were wonderful hosts, they settled us in and then left us completely alone for the whole weekend but we knew they were on hand if we needed anything.
They left us everything we could want for several breakfasts and it was all local produce.
The cottage is situated in a quiet street within walking distance from everything Maldon has to offer. Maldon is a beautiful little town and the antique fair was great. I would highly recommend Readshaw Cottage to anyone needing a place to stay in Maldon. We will definately be back.

I loved Readshaw Cottage, surprised at first that it was quite small, but the way it is designed is fabulous. Everything is there that is needed from food, drinks and TV to lovely toiletries. As my son and family live nearby to Maldon, it was a convenient oasis for 'me time' and the hosts were perfect in their warm welcome. The garden is relaxing and breakfast on the verandah a rare treat for me coming from the UK! Thank you.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Readshaw cottage. The cottage had all the facilities to make our two day stay very comfortable and is conveniently located within an easy walk to the town centre. The hosts made us very welcome and ensured our privacy. The continental breakfast was very enjoyable.

From the get go, Maldon struck me as a beautiful town when I arrived during the folk festival weekend and there is no better place to stay than the Readshaw Cottage.
The owner of the property gave my partner and I heaps of privacy and I didn't even got to say goodbye on the day that I left.
The cottage is located at the foot of Mount Tarrengower and is very quiet and surreal and there's heaps to see around Maldon and neighbouring Castlemaine and we did most of our exploring in Maldon on foot.
The cottage is fairly small but it is extremely self sufficient. My partner and I were joking that if there was a desk, work chair and wifi (cottage has no wifi but I got amazing 3G coverage with Optus so that's a plus) we probably could live there long term.
The most amazing thing about staying at the cottage was how much food the owner stocked in there and it lasted us a good 3-4 breakfasts.
Loved the place and would definitely recommend any couples who want a quiet weekend away (Maldon is only about 1.5 hour out of Melbourne). Would definitely be back!
