Description

Located 10kms west of Bendemeer in a peaceful valley. Enjoy waking up to bird calls, views of rolling hills and gumtrees. An early morning cuppa on your sun drenched verandah overlooking the paddocks as the cattle graze, is a relaxing way to start your day.

Have a stroll by the creek or take a picnic (hampers require notice). Walk among the cows and calves as they graze. Little Victoria was found in the paddock almost dead. After lots of loving care, she is now bounding around and growing well. Children are welcome to help feed her hay and calf nuts.

A gourmet breakfast, included in the tariff, consists of juice, fruits, free range eggs and fresh herbs picked straight from the garden, finished with homemade jams from our own fruit, tea or freshly ground coffee. Local produce is used when in season.

Or should you prefer, a breakfast basket can be brought to the cottage to have at your leisure.

Delicious dinners are also available and require advance notice please. (72 hours is preferable)

Or for a romantic celebration, a candlelit dinner, soft music and later check out are our specialty.

We are environmentally friendly and non-smoking.

Visit craft shops, wineries and lavender farm, in the local area, and further afield antique shops, museums, woolen mill, berry farm, waterfalls and gorges. We can arrange for a helicopter flight over the gorges, a picnic lunch and pick up from the front paddock. Go trout fishing in the McDonald River or at sunset look for the platypus under the old bridge. Bendemeer hosts a rodeo (Feb 13th 2012), art show(20-22nd & 26-29th Apr 2012)and the Grey Fergie Tractor Muster on 24/25th March 2012.

We are halfway between Sydney and Brisbane so spend a few days exploring the beautiful New England region, or have a relaxing stopover.

You will leave invigorated by the fresh country air!

  • "What more could you want, a cosy cottage out on acreage teaming with birds, bees, flowers and trees. Thanks so much Nicole for your warm welcome and offer of Devonshire Tea or coffee, the scones were as good as my grannies and the breakfast outside in the morning with cereals, fresh fruits and a choice of cooked breakfast made you feel you wanted to stay longer. A get away where you can do nothing but read, play tennis, take bush walks and see the cattle, or explore the history and sights of the surrounding suburbs, enjoy some wine tasting or even follick for gold made us realise we should have booked for longer. The cottage was home away from home and we loved the little touches, fresh flowers, books to read, music to listen to while you pour yourselves a drink into crystal glasses. Thanks again Nicole for everything, we had a great time. "

  • "The Farm Cottage was a great get away. My 2 small children (3years and 8 months) my husband and I had a great time. We love the peace and quiet, and it allowed us to stop and relax and enjoy the simple things in life. My three year old had a great time feeding the cow and rideing in the Ute with his father. He also enjoyed the space and freedom to run around in a safe environment. The cottage was also safe for my 8 month old to craw around in as well. I also loved that there was no TV, we did not miss it one bit. The breakfast was a feast every morning, and Nicole was lovely. Thanks for our lovely refreshing holiday."

  • "We stayed at the Farm Cottage because we needed a stop over on our long trip from Sydney to Brisbane. It was a wonderful experience because we've never stayed at a cottage before. Nicole and Andrew were very warm and friendly, and the cottage was really nice! Thank you Nicole for the cheese platter and the yummy breakfasts! Also thank you for taking us to see the calves, this was a great experience and we've already told our friends about how much we enjoyed it! We highly recommend this place, and will definitely be back soon."

  • "An outstanding weekend thanks to the beauty of both the property and its welcoming owners. I adored my 2 nights @Farm Cottage - incredibly picturesque in the Spring (roses, irises, apple blossoms, lavender galore), with a wonderfully cosy cottage to relax in the evenings. The cottage was filled with fresh fragrant blooms from the extensive garden; adding to the special welcoming feel of the property. The Queen bed encouraged wonderful restful sleep. Both breakfast & dinner were delicious and generous, with much of the produce straight from the garden! Nicole cooks a fantastic lamb roast, and her breakfasts are full of heart. Nicole and Andrew are the perfect hosts - friendly, intelligent, welcoming, yet discreet. Highly recommend this experience. Thanks so much! "

  • "My mother & I were made to feel very welcome by Nicole & Andrew, they were the perfect hosts. Nicole spoiled us with freshly baked scones for afternoon tea with home-made jam, which were a real treat! Not to mention the hearty cooked breakfast that was lavished upon us. The cottage was very cosy & had everything one could wish for. I would recommend it to anyone who wants a quiet relaxing get-away or even for a stop off to break the journey between Sydney & Brisbane. "

  • "Our stay was intended as an over night stop-over on the way home from holidays. It turned out to be a delightful experience and much more than we expected- this B & B is a real gem - beautifully appointed, gorgeous country setting, perfect hosts and so many things to do....we will definitely be back for a longer stay next time! (Oh, and did I mention the delicious meals - both dinner and breakfast were superb!!)"

  • "The perfect overnight resting spot for our trip to Esk - almost half way so the welcome of tea and mince pies was perfect for pre Christmas and the cosy cottage perfect for a restful nights sleep. Nicole and Andrew were the perfect hosts. There when you needed them, but discreet when you didn't. Our two labradoodles went nuts running around the open, beautifully manicured gardens. The breakfast as much or as little as you wanted. We'll definitely stay again if we make the same trip."

  • "Thank you Nicole and Andrew for making our stay so wonderful. It was so great to see our 3 year old and 1 year old enjoy the farm/fresh air/wildlife so much. They had a ball feeding the calves. Your breakfasts were amazing. You made the cottage and the farm so welcoming and enjoyable. We've recommended it to everyone we know. We hope to visit you again soon. "

  • "Driving into Farm Cottage was wonderful for those used to the city life, with the rolling green hills and the cattle here and there. The hospitality was more than one could ask for, we had ordered dinner. First came the cheese plate with smoked salmon followed by a hot dinner and home grown vegies, finally strawberries and creme frachie, all delicious. The accomodation was very comfortable and our little schnauzer was very happy. Breakfast in the morning was comprehensive and saw us through the day. I am looking forward to our next visit."

  • "We couldn't have been more please with our stay. We arrived in the middle of the night and our hosts were there to welcome us and even let our boys feed a calf in the dark. Then showed us through our delightful country cottage with all the thoughtful touches including lavender on the pillows. It was warm and welcoming and we only wish we could have stayed longer. Nicole,Andrew and Jeff are the friendlist and most hospitable family. Nicole cooked a huge, tasty breakfast served on the warm enclosed varanda of her lovely home. We will come back again and this time take the time to find a platapus under the bridge and visit the kangaroos in the paddock. Thanks for everything. "
