Description
One hours flight from Melbourne and half hour flight from Launceston gets you comfortably to Flinders Island. Palana is a quiet, small village with only three permanent residents on the northern tip of Flinders Island. Contrary to some claims that Tasmania is cold Palana Beach Haven is sheltered from winds of the Bass Strait by a high green belt hill at the back of the building. The site has a north eastern aspect, you will enjoy weather conditions similar to the mediterranean! The house was recently built and sits high opposite a beautiful 1.5km long, wide and pristine beach. Most of the time you are the only one on the beach. Watch the waves crash on the white sand from the comfortable and stylish lounge room or from the bedrooms. Walk into the patio from either the lounge/kitchen or the main bedroom. Watch the sea eagles and dolphins play. Swim in the clear waters or just walk on the long beach collecting shells or just sit and enjoy the view from the red lichen covered rocks on the beach. Listen to the ocean. Enjoy the nature, watch the sun come up behind the dunes. Bring a fishing rod, the area is famous for its good fishing, including crays up to 5kg! Boat ramp only 700 meters away. Enjoy the island with its mountains and some 120 beaches! Enhance your cooking with home grown vegetables and many herbs from the vegie patch!!
