Finish up with a simple meal or some fine dining at one of Avalon's restaraunts.
Beaches and Pittwater
This end of the Northern Beaches is home to Sydney's finest beaches - less busy and more natural than those closer to the City - which is why so many surf champions live here. Avalon Beach is only a short walk away. There are many other beautiful beaches to explore - Palm Beach, Whale Beach, Bilgola Beach & Newport beach are only a short drive away.
Clareville Beach is located off Delecta Avenue at Clareville. This is a beautiful beach and picnic area on the Pittwater side of the Peninsula.
On the other side of the peninsula is the beautiful Pittwater and Hawkesbury River water way home to some of Australia's and the world's sailing champions. Pittwater and the Hawkesbury River are surrounded by national parks providing some of the most secluded and beautiful walking and boating in Australia. Ferries can take you to beaches and coves only accessible by water - The Basin and Great Mackerel Beach are two of Sydney's best kept secrets.
