The Cubby House sits on 4 fully-fenced private acres, which is part of Riverlands Estate in Coolongolook. The estate is approximately 1,000 acres, of which only 200 acres make up the residential part and the rest is open pasture and recreational space
The north aspect of the estate fronts up to the Coolongolook River, which is accessible through a private access way approximately 1km from the house. The riverfront is just beautiful and you can launch your boat off the private ramp or throw a line over the jetty. The river is wide and clean and the Jetty is in excellent order, great for fishing, waterskiing, canoeing, or any other water activity. You'll love it...
When you decide to venture outside the estate, Nabiac town centre is only 8 minutes up the road, and for a little more excitement, both Forster / Tuncurry and Taree town centres are only 25 minutes north of Coolongolook. Just follow the signs heading north and enjoy everything from great shopping; cafes and restaurants; to beaches and dolphin cruises

How to get to The Cubby House
From Sydney, The Cubby House is only 2.5hrs north from the start of the F3 in Hornsby. Simply follow the freeway signs heading north. The freeway will take you passed the Gosford and Wyong turn offs, and the first major town you will go through is Raymond Terrace, which is about 1.5 hours into your journey. After Rymond Terrace, the next town is Bulahdelah, followed by Coolongolook, which is just over an hour from Raymond Terrace

We have arrived back in Sydney, I really enjoyed the stay and my children loved the giant Cubby house. Majority of the votes weren���t too happy with the weather and thought we were unlucky, but wet dark and grey is my favourite kind of weather. I loved everything about the house and the kids were entertained. The walk to the jetty was fun and we walked all the way in the rain, I don���t think I have ever seen the children so happy with simply walking in the mud. Thank you for the experience, I���m sorry about the small stain on the double bed, my daughter dropped the pit of a nectarine on it. I want to say thanks first to Haitham for his personal touch to this holiday he is very helpful cant do enough to make your stay a pleasant one from giving you a list of places to shop and visit while you are there to detailing in full about the house itself secondly the house is fabulous nice and quiet in the middle of a bushy estate absolutely stunning and not to far away from the jetty to launch our boat which we caught quite a few fish from out of the river also you are about 25 minutes away from forster if you want to go to dinner or watch a movie as we did we will definately be staying here again

Very high standard! All the finishing touches were lovely and they thought of everything to make sure your stay was enjoyable and comfortable. Highly recommend it to families who don't mind staying out of town and enjoying a 20 min baot trip to Forster. The kangaroos in the estate were a lovely touch too! A+

The cubby house is definitly a private paradise.It was so peaceful, a great place to unwind.
We had a ball playing air hockey & table soccer, we played some of the CD'S available & had our own little singalong.
The water front & jetty area was so beautiful,a great place to sit and meditate. We visited Forster & Taree,they were within half an hours drive.
Driving home we stopped off at Bulladella & Tea gardens, it was just a fabulous weekend. I will definitly stay at the cubby house again.

Thank you Haitham for letting us share your delightful "cubby house". We have visited on three occasions and are looking forward to a fourth stay soon. The house is lovely - bright, spacious and warm - it is beautifully appointed with everything required for a comfortable stay. I particularly love the loft reading area and the book exchange basket. The area surrounding the house is ideal for our dog who loves doing the perimeter sniff and search. The Cubby House is an easy space to be in and a haven to return to at the end of the day. A place to share with family and friends.

As it was pouring with rain when we left Sydney towing the tinny to the Cubby House I did wonder what sort of holiday we were heading into, but we were delighted with the house when we got there. The house is very comfortable and had everything we needed in the kitchen for cooking and the table soccer proved to be a winner with a family championship taking place one rainy afternoon. And when the sun came out we got to put our tinnie in the water down at the jetty. The ramp was very easy to manoeuvre and once on the water the birds and scenery were breathtaking. We caught lots of fish, but the only one big enough to keep got away. We drove the tinnie into Forster for an ice-cream and a picnic. It was a glorious day and a lovely few days at the Cubby House. What a fabulous, relaxing long weekend this was! The house was absolutely perfect! It has everything you need to keep yourself entertained. We spent the majority of the weekend down at the jetty fishing, which was so convenient as it was only a 1 minute drive or short walk. The owner is extremely kind and helpful, and willing to provide you with any information you require! We will definitely be coming back to the Cubby House, it is our new home away from home!

It was a pleasure to stay at The Cubby House, certainly a hidden little gem you have there. Anita and I had an amazing weekend, the wet weather didn't stop us from fishing for most of our trip. Friday night we lit the bonfire and relaxed with a BBQ dinner and glass of white wine. We took the boat out all day Saturday and had a blast, we caught a few fish unfortunately though they were undersize. Saturday evening we relaxed down on the jetty with a line in the water and enjoyed the serenity, an absolutely nice change from the busy Sydney lifestyle. As we feasted on our Sunday catch tonight we spoke about the weekend and wishing it didn't end. Your kind and helpful email and phone conversations began and added to a great weekend, fingers crossed next time we want to visit the Forster region The Cubby House is available for us to stay. Thank you for allowing our family to enjoy a perfect 2012 christmas break at The Cubby House.
This truly is an amazing property at a very good price.
From the first contact with the owner, our family knew we were in good hands.
Our family of 6 had a fantastic time at the Cubby House and we were so lucky to have found a property that suited all of us.
No expense has been spared.
The property is perfectly maintained and has apsoloutley everything any couple or family would need. The acreage around the house was fully fenced and our dog loved it. We spent a lot of our time at the jetty / lake which was a short walk from the house.
Sharing a coffee with kangaroos and Kookaburra's was an amazing experience too that we certainly didnt expect.
We loved how the Cubby House provided us with comfort, relaxation and privacy when we wanted it, then we drove a short distance to the beach and shops when we wanted to join the hustle and bustle of the holiday tourism.
When going on holidays, especially xmas holidays, it is hard to remember everything. This property had it all.
Everytime we needed something, our family would joke saying "there was no way the Cubby House would have thought of that" but they did.
The owner offered us superb service & hospitality and a 5 star property to match.
We are telling all our friends about this wonderful property and happy to discuss with anyone who would like to know more from a customers point of view.

After a whole semester of uni, my two friends and I needed a break - the cubby house served as the perfect escape. The house itself is stunning! We had the time of our lives, trying out everything it had to offer- during the night we even tried out the bonfire and drove into town to socialise with the friendly locals. Haitham was great, he was always within reach - many thanks. I hands down recommend this place to anyone looking for a good time!
p.s Haitham, you were right, one night was certainly not enough- we were sad to leave.

It's absolutely a great holiday house! Love the simplicity of the design and it's maintained really well. Kids love it too as they can play on the upper deck of the house as if it's a cubby house. You can see Kangaroo on the backyard as well in the evening when they are out for dinner time. It's a great experience overall.

The Cubby House is well cared for & decorated in a modern style. The beds are very comfy & the whole property feels relaxing. While walking outside we saw baby wallabies bounding past. So adorable.
The proximity to the lake is great & there are a number of activities to do in the area such as horse riding & dolphin cruises.
We had to pick up a cable to connect our laptop to the CRT tv so bear in mind you may need to bring your own if you're bringing a console. It rained a bit for us so wanting to spend some time indoors we picked up a cheapy from Kmart.
We had a great time & really enjoyed our trip. It was a very relaxing setting & nice to get away from the city for a few days over valentines without having to put our pup in a kennel.

What a great property on a large piece of land, only a short distance to the river and BBQ area.
The house has all the amenities you need and a great selection of drinks in the mini bar.

What a relaxing place...We all had an amazing holiday. Everything has been thought through with great attention to detail. The wildlife was great fun for us all..we even saw an Echidna, along with lots of Wallabies and Kangaroos. A perfect spot for fishing down by the river and swimming. the water was so hot it felt like you were in a bath! Thanks for creating the perfect hide away. We will definately be back.

We had a lovely time at the Cubby House, sharing it with old friends. We found that the house was very well appointed and the lounges and beds very comfortable. Your "instruction manual" was certainly very comprehensive as was the number of DVD's on tap. We didn't use the upstairs area at all but I can imagine how much it would have been appreciated by our children if they'd been there - no matter what age!
It was certainly a very peaceful place to spend a few days and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The spa was an added luxury and very relaxing.
Thanks for being so easy to contact, and for your careful preparations. I know you take pride in providing the very best for your guests and we certainly appreciated it.

We had a fabulous time, The Cubby House was comfortable and spacious enough for the two families with everything you needed. The children had a great time exploring the outdoors and playing in the attic, which was huge. We were thinking we could bring a small TV/DVD for them to watch in this space on our next visit, which we are going to do in the near future. We managed to squeeze in for one night stay on the Christmas eve (late booking). The house was well looked after, clean and made us feel comfortable in no time. We could find everything we needed - even insect repellent. The attic is a pleasant surprise.
We spent some time at Forster before we entered the house. All worked out well.
Also met with some friendly neighbors and few joeys in the neck of the woods...all added up to a memorable stay.
The owner was responsive and helpful. He even chased me for bank account details to refund to. Keep that up!

our holiday experience was fantastic. the children could run around freely without surpervision while us adults relaxed. it was not far from foster so we spent our outings at the beach and ton o fun. the house was beautiful my dream home. the facilities were 5 star. upstairs we made a kids room with all there toys so the adults had our own area without clutter. overall money worth spent.

This place is gorgeous. I came up here with my boyfriend for out two year anniversary and we had the most romantic weekend. The house is so welcoming and beautiful - each room is decorated simply and stylishly.

A great weekend was had by all with all the mod cons at your finger tips. To wake up with the chorous of birds and with the odd kangaroo it was a great wakening. The sleeping arrangement were completely comfortable and spacious.

Easter 2005- We stayed for three nights and had a fantastic time. The cubby house is immaculate and comfortable. We enjoyed the peaceful surroundings. The kids loved the kangaroos and the river. We had such a good time and were just amazed at the customer service the cubby house offered. We really enjoyed this beautifully furnished accommodation over the weekend. The spa was just what we needed and the untouched river was like glass on both days. The Cubby House exceeded all of our expectations. Fantastic!
