Enjoy life as it should be in this 100-year-old original farm cottage. Located at the end of a quiet country lane, and surrounded by a 4000acre environmental farm, this delightful historic home enjoys magnificent mountain views and offers an opportunity for a country experience with peace and privacy.
The homestead has been lovingly restored to retain its original charm, whilst offering the convenience of a modern kitchen and luxurious bathroom. Relax in a bath big enough for two whilst enjoying unspoilt views over farmland to the escarpment, take time over the paper and a cuppa on the front verandah, or snuggle in front of the combustion heater. During the cooler months, the fire will be prepared ready for you to put a match to or lit to warm the home for your arrival.
Hanigans Cottage offers two bedrooms with antique double beds, and three single beds in the third room. Trundle beds are available for extra children. Linen and towels are provided for your stay. You can even park your car out of the weather in the large rustic garage.
The cottage offers the chance to get close to nature, with chickens, geese and sheep in the adjoining paddock. Collect fresh eggs for breakfast from the chicken coop and harvest fresh vegetables from the large veggie-garden. There is also a selection of milk-fed beef cuts in the freezer at country prices. A selection of cookbooks and food staples are stored in the kitchen for your convenience.
We are very family friendly, and provide an ideal environment for families to reconnect.
To entertain our young guests, there is a television and DVD player (supply your own DVDs or rent in nearby Berry or Nowra). There is also a selection of board games, jigsaws and a small library of books and magazines. A portable CD/radio means you can take music into any room.
We are also pet-friendly. For your piece of mind the yard is well-fenced from the road, and from the farmyard animals. To avoid inconvenience or illness for any of our guests with asthma or allergies, we do ask you keep pets off furniture and out of bedrooms. Your pet is welcome to sleep indoors in the sitting room which is warmed by a wood-heater. We also supply pet blankets and towels.
