Allynbrook is especially well sited for you to enjoy the many features of the area. You can be here in approximately 2½ hours from Sydney via the F3 Freeway, Maitland, Paterson, Vacy, Gresford - all on tar sealed roads! We are ideally placed for outings to the Upper and Lower Hunter vineyards, Port Stephens, Newcastle and Lake Macquarie.
The Allyn valley runs through the rolling hills making up the southern slopes of the magnificent World Heritage listed Barrington Tops National Park. It is the smallest of the three southern river valleys, (Paterson, Allyn, & Williams) and its central location between the other valleys makes it arguably the hidden \"gem\".
Town Life & Attractions
Our closest town is East Gresford, approximately 7 kilometres away and boasts a post office, general store, butcher, hotel, bowling club, take-away and 2 boutique wineries. If you don\'t want to cook or barbeque, there is a family restaurant in the Hotel Beatty. Chinese and Australian meals are available at the Bowling Club and the local take-a-way comes highly recomended.
Gresford is also home to a number of must see annual events - the Gresford Show, held in March each year and arguably the best after the Royal! The Easter Fair and Billy Cart Derby, Rodeo and Community Markets are held the third Sunday of every month.
Once here, you are:
a short drive to Barrington Tops rainforests. Bring your walking shoes and take the scenic bushwalking trails. Gaze forever from spectacular lookouts and enjoy the abundant bush animals - how many have seen a pademelon?
a short scenic drive to historical towns, (Gresford, Paterson, Dungog, Morpeth) offering museums and galleries, local crafts, licensed clubs, hotel and eateries
within minutes of two boutique wineries with welcoming cellar doors and a good range of prize winning varietals and blends
a short drive to Allyn River & Mount Royal State forests
a short drive to Lostock Dam on the Paterson river - ideal for those who wish to wet a keel or line
encouraged to explore the \"Orange Grove\" property and take advantage of our Allyn river frontage to swim, fish, or perhaps just sit and listen to the river still time.
