Everybody knows Mollymook Beach but few bother to take a 3 minute drive around the headland to Narrawallee Beach. If they did they would find a beautiful flat sandy beach about 1.5 km long, with rockpools and a backdrop of native bush with beautiful stretches of parkland for that picnic lunch.
There are children's playgrounds and at the northern end of the beach a place for the kids to enjoy a swim - Narrawallee inlet or the lake as the locals call it.
Here you have parks with shade trees, picnic tables, BBQ's and toilets, children's play equipment, just the perfect spot to relax and let the kids run.
In summer the southern end of the beach is patrolled by Surf Lifesavers, while the north end of the beach is great when the surf's up.
As for fishing, whether it's on the Beach or in the Lake, or around at the rocky cove, fishing is fantastic from dawn to dusk you can always catch something, salmon, bream, whiting, taylor and the odd Dog Shark. There are lots of beach worms if you are good at catching those slippery long things and pipis, we believe this is one of the greatest beaches on the South Coast.
Narrawallee Beach is located an easy 2.5 hour drive south of Sydney. Located near the historic rural township of Milton and the bustling commercial fishing town of Ulladulla on the coast.
There is a natural rockpool - "Bogey Hole" at Collers Beach just a few minutes away by car or you can take a walk around the headland from the Surf Club, which is a great place to take the kids swimming and snorkelling.
You might like to try one of the many 4WD trails or walking/climbing trails at Pigeon House Mountain. Or a spot of deep sea fishing from one of the many charter boats that leave from Ulladulla harbour.
There are 2 golf courses to choose from - the 9 hole course located beachside or the hilltop 18 hole championship course. Mollymook Golf clubhouse on the beach provides a great spot to have a relaxing drink and meal with terrific views.
There is a great range of restaurants ranging from Bannisters Point Lodge to cafes, or why not try the fresh seafood from the Ulladulla Wharf.
The local village shops are only a short distance from the house and include a video/dvd hire, bakery, butcher, gourmet deli, organic fruit & veg, bottleshop, supermarket, chemist and takeway fish & chips.
Ulladulla is approximately a 5 minute car trip and is a large commercial town where you will find all major supermarkets, banks, cafes, Baker's Delight, movie theatre and the like. The Ulladulla Wharf Markets are held every 2nd Sunday of the month.
At Milton you will find a number of craft shops, antique stores and galleries, plus a number of gourmet cafes, with a couple of fresh and organic food providores.
A Country Market is held at Milton the first Saturday of every month. The Milton Scarecrow & Harvest Festival this year will be held on June long weekend. The Milton Settlers Fair will be held on the October long weekend.
