Bogong Village nestles in the mountains midway between Mt Beauty and Falls Creek in North East Victoria.
Twenty three houses built for the workers on the Kiewa hydro-electric scheme, sit on the side of a valley overlooking the beautiful Lake Guy, set amongst seasonal European gardens but surrounded by the Alpine National Park.
This is a place to escape to in all seasons. The European village gardens are ablaze with colour in spring, are cool and leafy green in summer and then transform to give a spectacular display in Autumn.
Make your stay in the village as adventurous or relaxed as you wish. Hike, stroll or amble, have a game of tennis, catch trout in the lake or mountain streams, picnic by the lake, barbeque by the river or curl up in front of the fire and admire the view.
The village is 20 minutes drive from the breathtakingly beautiful High Plains and ski slopes of Falls Creek, offering a welcome base for those seeking the downhill excitement and cross country skiing in winter and the grandour of the high plains all year round.
Bogong’s unique location also places it in easy reach of a wide range of seasonal adventure based activities and makes it an excellent base for exploring some of Australia’s most spectacular high country.
23 weatherboard houses sleeping from 2 to 8 are nestled in an intimate Village environment, amongst mature European gardens.
The two, three and four bedroom houses are similar on the outside but very different on the inside as they are all individually owned. Each cabin is decorated and furnished according to the owner’s personal taste and are classified as either Standard, Intermediate or Superior.
All houses are self contained with a fully equipped kitchen and are comfortably appointed with fresh linen, warm bedding, heating and TV. The Intermediate and Superior houses offer further comforts such as full laundry, video or DVD player, books and games. They may also have dishwasher, wood heater, spa or BBQ.
Located as the Village is on the side of a valley, all houses have uninterupted views of the lake, gardens or mountains
Bogong represents a unique holiday option for all, whether it be a romantic escape for couples, a base for the adventurous or relaxing wind-down for those more inclined to just laze back and soak up the mountains of fresh air and scenery.
