Description

A review in Australian Traveller in the April/May 2008 issue - about Hunter Valley Hideaways - AT's pick of the bunch - Cedars Mount View...."Completely secluded from one another, this could be the most private and luxurious boutique outfit current operating in the Hunter. With simple exteriors and expansive verandahs, each cottage's interior is a study in clean, simple modern elegance".....

Cedars has everything you need for a romantic getaway. There are a variety of indulgence packages available, the most popular being the helicopter pickup from your cottage for a scenic flight to Pokolbin, before landing for 3 course lunch and a bottle of wine at either Esca's at Bimbadgen Estate or Amanda's on The Edge and a return trip back to your cottage to in-house massage.

Prices for accommodation and breakfast supplies that include plunger coffee, start for one couple at $270 to $330 mid week or $350 to $445 on weekends.

Extra people (in the same booking) at The Gums or The Creek cottages have a discounted rate.

The mid week rate is discounted for stays of 4 nights or more.

One bedroom split level, open plan cottage - The Terrace/Ridge

The upper level has a king size bed, private bathroom, two person spa bath which is open to the room and has expansive views through two large windows and a fully equipped kitchen is separate to the bedroom.

Two steps down to the lower level - timber floors and floor rugs, leather 3 seater lounge with chaise.

80cm LCD satellite television, surround sound system, DVD library and IPOD docking stations.

Cosy gas (log) fires and reverse cycle air conditioning.

Dining table and chairs.

This level is surrounded on two sides by glass sliding doors and windows and opens onto a large L shaped deck with gas BBQ with roasting hood, outdoor dining and reclining and coffee table.

The Terrace is $330 per night mid week or $445 per night on weekends (Fri/Sat or Sat/Sun).

The Ridge is $310 per night week or $410 per night on weekends.

The Gums and The Creek Cottages (2 and 2+1 bedrooms)

While these cottages have two bedrooms (The Creek cottage also has an adjoining loft bedroom), both cottages are still a romantic option for one couple.

Both cottages have queen size beds and each bedroom has its own bathroom and reverse cycle air conditioning.

Each cottage has an oval shaped two person spa in a private bathroom belonging to the main bedroom.

Both cottages have gas (log) fires and full size kitchens and living areas with lovely wide views.

The spa bath in The Gums has views to a vineyard, and the spa bath at The Creek has views over to the surrounding mountains.

The Gums has a specially built day bed in the living area which is proving to be very popular with our guests. A large deck wraps around the front of the cottage with access through sliding glass doors from both bedrooms and the living area (which separates the bedrooms). There is also a back deck as an alternative to catch the afternoon sunshine.

Both cottages have digital television channels and DVD players, The Creek cottage has a 152cm plasma with satellite TV and surround sound. The Gums has a 68cm TV, DVD,CD as well as an IPOD docking station.

Both cottages have the flexiblility of being a romantic hideaway for one couple, or a relaxing retreat for up to two couples in The Gums, or up to three couples in The Creek cottage.

The Gums is $260 per night for one couple mid week and $350 per night on weekends (2 night minimum). For a second couple travelling together the rate is discounted per person.

The Creek is $280 per night for one couple mid week and $390 per night on weekends (2 night minimum). There is a discounted rate per person for 2 or 3 couples travelling together.

Guest Reviews
One of the most calm and relaxing place, would always look forward to be there once again whenever life is sinking in the busy work loads and wants to soak itself in the soothing ambiance of CEDARS.
