An elegant all seasons retreat in beautiful Tuross Head for couples, families, or friends. This 2 storey house has beach views from the upper balcony and is only 3 house blocks from the shoreline. Walk down to Tuross main beach or walk along the lake to the boatshed and hire a boat.
Join the early morning surfers at one of the 4 beaches, or relax on one tree point and watch the surfers, the dolpins or in season spot the whales.
If you are a relaxing frame of mind, turn on the home theatre system, laze in the beautiful landscaped gardens, prepare a meal for family and friends and relax around the 10 seat antique dining table.
N.B. The house is ideal for one family or 2 couples. It has 2 Queen size bedrooms (both with ensuite) and a 3rd bedroom with 2 single fold out beds. This bedroom is accessed through the master bedroom. 4 adults and 2 children ( or any combination of this) is the maximum occupancy.
Non-smokers only please.
Stroll along the walking path at the back of the Tuross beachs, or relax at One Tree Point and watch the surfers, the dolpins or in season spot the whales. Take a picnic to the gardens beside the beach and relax under the Norfolk Pines which make Tuross one of the most picturesque spots on the east coast of Australia.
If you are in a stay at home/relaxing frame of mind, turn on the home theatre system and watch a DVD or listen to music. You might just laze in the beautiful landscaped gardens, have a BBQ or prepare a meal for family and friends and lounge in the shaded outdoor area or inside around the 10 seat antique dining table.
Tuross is in the middle of the Eurobodalla pleasure coast. So you can drive a short distance to Mogo Zoo to see the rare White Lion cubs, or visit one of the many art galleries, or enjoy one of the excellent local restaurants.
There is a choice of three on the Tuross Lake wharf 1 mins drive or 10 minute stroll from the Captain's House. Have gourmet pizza on the waters edge, fish and chips or a bucket or prawns on the wharf (they do good expresso coffee too), or book for a night out at the Pickled Octopus seafood restaurant. All 3 of these restaurants on the lake are BYO and highly recommended.
Try "The River" at Moruya for real 5 star dining. You will need to book ahead to get a table on the weekend or high season.
Venture further south to Narooma and catch a boat out to Montague Island to see the lighthouse, or the penguins on the twilight tour. Visit the National Trust listed Tilba Tilba to step back in time. Taste cheese at the factory, tramp up the walking trials, or shop for antiques and quality craft. Then drive across to Bermagui to see where "the Man who Sued God" was filmed.
