The Birdhouse is set on 50 private acres of unspoilt bushland with a mixture of rainforest and tall eucalyptus forest. Three crystal clear mountain streams run through the property and it supports a wide variety of native plants, animals and especially birdlife. Lyre birds display and call around the house throughout winter. Wombats are regularly seen at night and wallabies can be seen in the early morning and evening.
It is a paradise for adults and children alike. Peace and tranquillity and the chance to finally relax for the adults, abundant space and adventure for the kids (including a large tree house close to the house).
You may choose to relax on the Birdhouse property for the duration of your stay.
If, however, you wish to explore further afield....
Within a few minutes drive is the well known Barren Grounds Nature Reserve, with walking tracks and beautiful picnic spots. The last two photographs above are taken at Carrington Falls and Nellies Glen - only a 10 minute drive away. Perfect for paddling, swimming and generally enjoying!
The village of Jamberoo is a 10 minute drive away, the pretty village of Robertson is about 15 minutes away with a fantastic deli and numerous cafes. Kiama with its famous Blow Hole is only 20 minutes away. 7 Mile Beach is south of here along with the picturesque villages of Gerroa and Gerringong.
For families, the Jamberoo Recreation Park is only a 10 minute drive. Kangaroo Valley approx 3/4hr drive.
