“Super comfy and Luxurious”

"I recently stayed at 'Belvedere' short stay accommodation with my two impeccably behaved Mini Schnauzers. We had 2 wonderful weeks @ this beautifully presented and outfitted terrace home. The beds were super comfy and luxurious; the decor very practical and stylish; location superb for wining, dining and exploring. I was not to keen on writing a favourable testimonial because it should be kept a secret. I would definitely stay there again." Catherine P, Perth (Oct 2006)

“We felt like we were staying at a suite in the Hilton! Highly recommended.”

Myself, my husband and one year old son stayed in this rental property for three weeks this November. It is such a great house to stay in while visiting Sydney. Great restaurants, shops, etc. right on our doorstep. The house itself was very stylishly furnished, spacious and easy to maintain. We felt like we were staying at a suite in the Hilton! It had a great enclosed back patio with barbecue too which was nice.
The owner was kind enough to leave toys for our son to play with as we were visiting from Ireland and couldn't bring a lot with us.

I would highly recommend staying here if you want a quiet home right in the middle of everything. Our security bond was returned with no delay soon after we left.
The Birch Family, Ireland (Nov 2006)

"We didn't want to leave Belvedere Terrace”

"We didn't want to leave Belvedere Terrace....a light, spacious, and well equipped space, ideally situated for the bars and restaurants of Darlinghurst and an easy bus journey or walk into the center of Sydney.” Max N, UK (Dec 2006)

“We absolutely loved the house”

We stayed at Belvedere Terrace with our 7 month old baby and Rhodesian Ridgeback in December 06. We absolutely loved the house; it is spacious, clean, well located, tasteful, beautifully set out with all the modern comforts and has a fantastic courtyard. It has a very relaxing atmosphere. Helen, the owner of the property is wonderful- extremely helpful, kind and charming. We hope to return to Belvedere again soon.
Sam and Selina, Leura NSW (Dec 2006)

“Nothing was too much trouble”

"Thanks for a fantastic stay in Belvedere Terrace. We thoroughly enjoyed the house, and having rented similar houses in Sydney in the past found this to be by far the nicest.

The house was immaculately clean, and the standard of furniture and appliances was excellent. Helen and her husband made us feel very at home and let us know that nothing was too much trouble for them, even offering to baby-sit for us! Having small children themselves they were kind enough to supply a large box of toys and books for our daughter along with highchair, cot etc at no extra cost.

However the house is also very suitable for those without children or business people due to the high level of finish and stylish modern decor. The house is very conveniently located, with Darlinghurst, Rushcutters Bay, Paddington and the City all nearby. The tunnels also make it very quick to get across town to the Fish Markets, or to North Sydney.

We had a very happy stay indeed and would love to come back in the future. Highly Recommended.
Thanks again" Neil and Tory, England (Jan 2007)

“We were one hundred percent happy with Belvedere and regret not having stayed longer”

"Perfect. Close the door and you are in your own quiet little world. We were one hundred percent happy with Belvedere which we found was exactly as described on the web site. Helen was attentive without being intrusive and responded immediately to any queries we had. The house is twenty yards from the bus stop, you are at Circular Quay in about ten minutes and the subway a few minutes walk. We did not hire a car and never felt the need for one having so many good restaurants and shops within easy walking distance. We regret not having stayed longer and are looking forward to our next visit. Thank you Helen for your kindness and also for the very prompt return of our deposit".

“Everything at the Belvedere was perfect”

Our family just completed a fantastic holiday stay at Belvedere Terrace. The accommodations were excellent and Helen the host was very helpful and even provided her own baby chair for our two year old to use. Everything at the Belvedere was perfect and we felt as relaxed as in our own home. The secure court yard was really great as our two year old could play there while in our view. Helen - thanks for a wonderful stay. We look forward to our next visit to Sydney and Belvedere Terrace.
Mark Haley, Seattle, Washington (March 2007)

“Belvedere Terrace was the perfect place for our family reunion”

Thank you so much for all you did to make our stay in Sydney so enjoyable. Belvedere Terrace was the perfect place for our family reunion. It was comfortable, well-equipped and very clean. You made us feel at home right away -- having a high chair, cot and toys ready when we got off the plane made a huge difference to our kids, and they loved playing in the enclosed terrace outside. And the adults loved being able to retreat to the spacious (and cool) bedrooms for a bit of peace and quiet! It accommodated four adults and two kids very comfortably, and we regularly had my brother and his girlfriend over for barbecues, too. Close to the action in Darlinghurst and Paddington, yet it felt very quiet and safe. We enjoyed exploring the terraced streets and trendy restaurants nearby, wandering down to Rushcutters Bay Park, and walking up to Oxford Street for some great shopping. And for longer excursions, having the garage was a huge plus. We'll be back next time we come and will recommend the house to any friends coming to Sydney. Thanks again for everything! Rachel Yeaman, San Francisco (March 2007)

“Such a great pad”

Thanks for letting us stay in such a great pad in Sydney - we would certainly recommend it to anyone with children! Adrian Munns, UK (April 2007)

“Location to be perfect since it was central”

My family and I enjoyed our stay at Belvedere Terrace. The house was clean, spacious, quiet and comfortable. We found the location to be perfect since it was central to a lot of areas we wanted to visit. The fully equipped kitchen and bbq grill is great for families who love to cook. Helen was great and very helpful.
Charissa. Honolulu, Hawaii (April 2007)

We would definitely rent "The Belvedere" again!

The house was much enjoyed, it was extremely comfortable, quiet and well appointed. We would definitely rent "The Belvedere" again! Cheers, Simon & Hank (May 2007)

“Spotlessly clean”

We had a wonderful holiday in Belvedere Terrace with our extended family in June, despite the weather! The house was very warm, comfortable, stylish, spotlessly clean, child friendly, and with everything on hand that we could possibly have needed. Helen was both friendly and professional and we would definitely stay there again and have recommended it to all our friends and family.
Catherine and Heinz, Hobart, Tasmania June 2007

"My wife and our 2 small boys (8 mths + 2 1/2 yrs), rented Belvedere Tce for a full calendar month from 2 Oct 07 -> 2 Nov 07. We had just moved our family from London to Sydney to live. It was of upmost importance to us to have a house from the outset that was safe, secure which also had all the comforts of home.

We found the property location very handy to the CBD of Sydney whilst also being close to the Parks (esp Rushcutters Bay) and shops (esp Victoria St). The interior was a very high spec contemporary design. The owner (Helen) provided extra toys for our kids and also provided a travel cot which was most excellent. Helen was also a mine of information and assisted us greatly providing information on everything from recommended furniture shops to info on the local Australian ph companies.

The windows are double glazed and therefore this provided a nice quiet environment - especially necessary when putting children to bed and reading bedtime stories.

With off-street parking on the property it made it easy to whip out and about in our rental car (rental car agency 4 mins walk as well - aud35/day) to get on with the many tasks associated with getting the family set up in a new city.

Not only was the house spotlessly clean, fully furnished, including all the wee extras like toys etc, centrally located, with off street parking, being safe and secure, and close to the city and parks, but it was also a very well run short term professional let. it was apparent that Helen was well used to helping out and providing assistance and info - this for us really was the icing on the cake !!

My wife and I would not hesitate for a moment to recommend staying at Belvedere Tce for the reasons just stated. Our experience exceeded all our expectations and can honestly say it was 180% !!

kind regards, Ken Guiney (Oct 2007)

"Extremely well located, modern renovation, fully equipped,
spacious terrace house. Easy (hilly) walk to pretty much everything. Great choices for eating out, nice enough to stay in. Perfect for our family of 6."
Thanks again. David Day (Nov 2007)

This is a terrific house - chic, glamorous, and practical too.The space is very well organised, with kitchen/dining/living area downstairs - complete with laundry, and featuring comfortable seating, sound system, and large flat screen T.V. with all cable channels as well as internet access - 2 double bedrooms (one with balcony) and 2 fully tiled bathrooms (both with large showers, one with tub as well) on the first floor, and another very spacious bedroom on the 2nd level.
The location is fabulous - a quiet cul de sac just a short walk from shops, coffee shops and any number of excellent cafes & restaurants. There is a bus stop a stones throw from the front door - we didn't use our car at all - and yes, there is a lock up garage! The house is also extremly quiet, thanks to double glazed windows.
All in all, a wonderful place to stay in Sydney - we'll certainly be back next year. Many thanks indeed, Helen.

THE NEIGHBOURHOOD

DARLINGHURST
Across William Street to the south of Kings Cross, Darlinghurst Village is an eclectic mix of businesses, from well established dining venues, cafes and bars, to modern fashion design and furnishings, homewares, nightspots and boutique accommodation.

It is a heritage precinct and the majority of buildings are early 20th century terrace houses.

All within walking distance are the 20 blocks bounded by Barcom Avenue, Surry, Craigend, Forbes and Oxford Streets and Taylor Square. The Darlinghurst Precinct offers a realm of the senses for locals and visitors alike.

Walk to Oxford Street, Darlinghurst, you will find everything from supermarkets to gift shops, through to alternative clothing boutiques, late night bookshops and music stores. The area is also home to a range of exceptional designer and homewares outlets. This happening strip, alive day and night, is also a great place for people watching.

Walk to Victoria Street Darlinghurst, its a popular place to dine. This strip is particularly famous for its coffee and Italian style cafes, but there are also some good Indian, Thai and other cuisines here. Stanley Street also has a great selection of Italian cafes and restaurants, from basic to up market, and nearby Oxford Street is known for its low priced ethnic eateries, including Indian, Thai and Spanish.

Other entertainment options in The Village are plentiful. For those who like theatre they can walk to the East Village Hotel or Kings Cross Stables Theatre an excellent venue for intimate contemporary performances.

Take in some history and culture at the Australian Museum and the Sydney Jewish Museum or visit an alternative art gallery.

So close is Rushcutters Bay Park which offers a relaxing green space with views over the harbour and its Marina. For children of all ages, a large playground is located within the Park which features tennis courts and a cafe.

PADDINGTON/WOOLLAHRA
One suburb over is one of Sydneys most hip suburbs, Paddington. A mecca for trendy shoppers and diners and well known for its markets. Surrounded by charming National Trust listed Victorian architecture and many art galleries its a delight to just stroll through and take it all in.

Shop for antiques, books, clothes, gifts and homewares, deli goods and fresh food on Oxford Street. The street is at its best on Saturdays when the long running Paddington Markets are buzzing.

There is no shortage of places to eat along Oxford Street – all the way from Darlinghurst to the corner of Jersey Road.

Visit Fox Studios or the Australian Centre for Photography, take a stroll in nearby Centennial Park, or join a guided tour of Victoria Barracks. There are also sporting events and behind the scenes tours at the Sydney Cricket Ground and Aussie Stadium. Paddingtons cinemas the Chauvel in the Town Hall, and the Palace Academy Twin and Palace Verona, specialise in foreign and art house films. Also on Oxford Street are plenty of "happening" clubs, pubs and bars.

The Belvedere Terrace Darlinghurst is the perfect location for visiting Sydney. It is a great neighbourhood to experience "living" in Sydney be it for just a week or even better a longer stay. So central to the city and its beautiful harbour and close to Sydneys famous beaches and waterways.

  • "Thank you Helen! We loved Belvedere Terrace. I'm an Australian living in the US and we've stayed in several rental houses in Sydney in recent years when home visiting family. This was by far the best. Helen has thought of everything. It felt as if we were staying in our own home. We particularly appreciated toys left for our 8-month-old. Everything was so easy - it left us plenty of time to eat at my beloved bills - a short stroll away - and enjoy my favourite part of Sydney. I hope it's available next time we're home."
