Description

Enjoy this whole house and grounds - not a unit or house subdivision for your next holiday!

Spacious Salamander Cottage, featuring a traffic free cul-de-sac position, is a 3 bedroom house sleeping 6, and is well positioned for a great week-long break, weekends, school holidays and mid-week breaks.

The house is a 3 minute walk to the bayside reserve - Georges Reserve and beach, [via pedestrian access walkway] facing the expansive Bay and direct through the Heads - Tomaree and Yacaaba] with it's resident pelicans.

The public jetty and Stoney Range Reserve for a local bush walk are a few minutes walk from the house.

Shops, cafes, Salamander Shores Hotel [bottleshop/bar/dining], restaurants, a local club [bar/dining/entertainment] are all within 10 minute walks. Several boat ramps are a few minutes by car as is the Horizon's Golf course.

It is all here locally, but the Nelson Bay Marina and Shopping Centre is only a 10 minute scenic drive via Corlette.

The house is an entertainer - with a separate lounge, and large family/living room and is attractively furnished. The outdoor covered patio/BBQ area is adjacent to the kitchen and living areas.

The bedrooms are separately located giving privacy and space [1 queen, 1 double, 2 singles, 2 fold up beds suitable for children]. Linen and towels are provided for the bedrooms but not fold-upd.

The bathroom unit has a separate bath and shower room, separate toilet [one of 2], and separate basin area. There are grab rails in both the shower and one toilet.

The double lock-up garage can store your boat/canoes/dingy, or car/s. Or you can use the space as a playroom [table tennis].

Family pets are welcome by negotiation.

Whale watching season May to November.

Full house - not a unit - not sharing a house!

Dog friendly holidays

Dogs on holiday. Dogs enjoy a holiday too - and avoid those expensive kennel fees! After all they are a member of the family!
Salamander Cottage is pet friendly. We have a fenced courtyard off the kitchen dining areas which can allow your dog to come in and out of the house. The courtyard has sun protection with a covered awning, but captures all the sea breezes so is a pleasant place to be! Bring your dog's own bedding. If you prefer the windowed, light, double lock-up garage can be a secure place for bedding your pet at night.

Enjoy long walks together in the quiet streets of Salamander Bay and Soldiers Point.

A pet fee applies per stay of $25 per pet.

Guest Reviews

  • "What A lovely home away from home for both of us and our puppy. We loved the convenience of the local fishing and shopping and relaxation was easily achieved. Thanks for a great stay - even the table tennis was an added bonus!!"

  • "Salamander Cottage is a lovely, well-furnished house in a great location, close to the beach and shops. The outdoor fenced areas are slightly limited for space, which may be a consideration if your dog is large. Bella, our border collie, loved it and also enjoyed the huge garage/games room. A really great house for a peaceful break close to amenities."

  • "We had a wonderful time at the cottage. My friend is disabled and to be able to take her companion poodle with us was wonderful. Everything we needed was on hand and made good use of the table tennis table. My friend discovered she could play table tennis in her wheel chair and greatly boosted her morale. Many thanks from Carmel, Cath and Milo"
