  • "Wish we could have stayed longer. A wonderful couple of days spent here at the end of a long touring holiday of Tasmania. Our two young children rated it the best place ever. The hospitality is second to none and everything we needed and so much more was here for us. Sue's homemade soup on our last night was a godsend after a big day out exploring. Can't wait to come back and experience it in the winter."

  • "My first impression of this cottage was WOW how cute. I stayed there for 1 week with my mum,2 sisters,2 daughters & 2 grandchildren. My granddaughter had a ball playing on the tramp & the swings also running around the big yard and also patting the sheep.Sue and Derek thank you for everything, we will be back again one day."

  • "A wonderful combination of the romantic and the family friendly. As a family of 2 adults and 5 children, we were able to really enjoy this very pleasant cottage and grounds. Our hosts were very thoughtful and considerate, and we had a lovely week to round off our 5 week Tasmanian holiday, having saved the best place for last."

  • "Family of 5 stayed for 4 nights, could have stayed forever. Cottage, clean comfortable and fireplace most appreciated. Although not far from Burnie centre, cottage was remote enough to feel that you were on a semi-farm. Children enjoyed facilities offered and animals that visited at times. Hosts excellent, nothing to much trouble for them to do or explain to us. Just heaven. Great place to chill and relax with family."

  • "We can not fully explain just how great it was to be able to forget the world for a few nights. We were having a few hassles in our personal life and this was just the tonic required. Our only regret was that we were unable to stay longer. Thank you ever so much. Mike & Lisa"
    Michael & Lisa, December 2007

  • "Hideaway Cottage Retreat! The name says it all! This is a fantastic place for a family stay. What a terrific setting, loads of space for the kids, sheep grazing nearby, friendly jack russel, tree swing. This is the sort of place you dreamed about as a kid. Plus all the touches of home - big tv, surround sound system, DVD library, spa, open fire, comfy couches & beds, hammock, quality linen. And all within a few minutes of town and shops. Talk about value for money! This is a great base to explore Cradle Mountain, the North and North West of Tassie. This place was a real highlight of our two weeks in Tassie. We can't wait to return. Thanks Bill."
    Nigel, October 2007

  • "Absolutely wonderful. Fantastic hosts - they've thought of everything - all the little touches. Made us feel incredibly welcome. A must for families - perfect place to relax while the kids exhaust themselves on all the equipment and in the fresh air. We'll definitely be back for a longer stay next time. Do not pass this place up - its a true gem."
