Description

Looking for a holiday destination? You may have just found it! ‘Driftwood’ is a charming lakeside cottage nestling amongst the gum trees and privy to a view that will take your breath away. Lake Conjola, on the South Coast of NSW is a pristine expanse of sparkling clear water and arguably one of Australia’s best kept holiday secrets. Very tastefully decorated and recently renovated, right down to a fully equipped picnic basket, feather doonas and complimentary bottle of wine. Just bring food and beverages, everything you need is there, even the candles, mohair throws and as one guest said...."in fact everything you need to throw a fabulous dinner party."

We could go on, but let's leave that to Simon St John, author of the prestigious travel book, ‘Beautiful Accommodation':

“As a result of our visit I am delighted to welcome you to the next edition of Beautiful Accommodation. I was so impressed with Driftwood -- the attention to detail in the interiors is superb and the setting is quite magical. Driftwood has a soul and I would be proud to represent you for the two years of the next edition. I know that as a result of the new edition many special guests will enjoy the unique experience of staying at Driftwood.”

At Conjola National Park there are just a handful of properties that enjoy elevated, uninterrupted lake views.... Driftwood is one of them.

Visit some of the local attractions including Mollymook, Milton, Ulladulla, Jervis Bay and Dolphin Point. Why not head for Pebbly Beach to feed the kangaroos (40 minute drive) or just feed the King Parrots and Rosellas from Driftwood's verandahs?

Located right in the heart of Conjola Natonal Park, there's fishing and swimming virtually at the front door, or hire a boat from the local corner store. Surfing or beach fishing is only a kilometre away at Conjola Beach, famous for its stunning white sand. Nearby Milton offers a great backdrop for a stroll as it boasts great cafes, antiques, homewares and gourmet fare, or visit some of the great wineries in the area.

Some comments from our guests
Monique & Hamish - October 2007
"What a perfect place to relax, enjoy a glass of wine on the deck and marvel at the visiting echidna on the lawn. Thank you Virginia, for providing a holiday house with such a beautiful feel; from the huge, light-filled bedroom to the kitchen filled with everything you could possibly need to cook up a storm, it really is a little slice of Conjola heaven. We are counting the months until we can come back again.....and the dogs are glaring at us for dragging them away and bringing them back home."

"The moment we entered we were struck by the beautiful decor, and the fantastic view looking directly over the lake. The ambience of both the house and local area creates an environment of relaxation -- we explored the local town and spent time at the beach, only a few minutes away. We hope to return, thank you."

"Watching the reflections on Lake Conjola as the lorikeets drop in to say hello ... Driftwood is a great place to recharge the batteries, relax, read and write."
Alex - Mar 2007

  • "Enjoyed a wonderful stay at Driftwood. Took visiting parents from the UK for a long weekend, and we all loved everything about the place... We will certainly be back!"

  • "We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Driftwood. Your clear and concise directions and info were appreciated. We essentially lived on the deck apart from daily visits to the beach and outings to buy seafood and do some sight seeing. Beautiful location and furnishings. And one of the best equipped houses we have ever stayed in - we wanted for nothing. We look forward to another visit in the future. "

  • "Driftwood was an absolute delight and we sincerely hope that we will be able to stay there again. The house has everything (and more) that one needs to enjoy a relaxing and peaceful holiday, with all the comforts of home (minus the incessant ringing phone). The peace and quiet of the area is wonderful and the closeness of good cafes in Milton a bonus. We would be happy to recommend Driftwood to anyone who is looking for that little bit extra in a holiday rental. The booking system with David all went seamlessly. All in all, a delightful experience."

  • "Dear Virginia & David, Thank you sharing with us your beautiful Driftwood. The perfect family holiday - days at the many nearby beaches, pottering around Milton, visiting local art galleries, magical bushwalks, BBQ breakfasts, feeding the visiting parrots, catching the afternoon sun with a glass of wine whilst your toddler baths in the dog bowl - what more do you need in life. Thank you."

  • "Driftwood is simply lovely. My husband and I found it just perfect for a week away. It has the rustic charm of a beach cottage on the outside and all the comforts of home on the inside. From fine cutlery & glassware, a range of books & magazines to the large dog bowl and bird seed, Virginia has all the bases covered. A great kitchen with a well stocked pantry. A lovely location. Paul & Jane. "

  • "A truly excellent retreat far away from the rat race where you can really relax and unwind. It has all the comfort, warmth, charm and atmosphere you would expect in your own country cottage. I look forward to another stay at Driftwood in the near future."
