Description

The Cottage is conveniently located on the Pyrenees Highway halfway between the Goldfields town of Maryborough, and the centre of the Pyrenees Wineries, Avoca; and is a 2 hour drive from Melbourne. Ideally situated for that 'get away from it all' weekend.

An open plan and comfortable living area comprises lounge with wood heater, eating area and fully equiped gourmet kitchen. A twin bedroom and bathroom complete the ground floor. A full length verandah faces west for views of the Pyrenees ranges, whilst an east facing verandah is perfect for breakfast in the morning sunshine.
The 1st floor has a Queen size bed, full bathroom and a large two person spa. A private balcony faces the Pyrenees Ranges

Property

The Cottage is situated on the top of a hill behind a small Olive Grove within sight of the Highway. Away from the road it slopes down towards the Bet Bet Creek which forms the boundary of the 50 acre property.

Locality

Situated centrally for exploring the historic goldfield towns of Avoca, Talbot, Dunolly, Majorca and of course Maryborough with its arts and crafts,and antique markets.
A short drive through Avoca takes you to the vineyards of the Pyrenees region with its cellar door sales and restaurants.

  • "This place is amazing - the whole time we stayed here we were thinking 'what a fantastic find!!'I plan to send my parents here for a few nights and want to return again real soon. We loved the property and had a jog / walk each morning around the grounds. The house was perfect with everything you will need, a fireplace, spa in the main bedroom, coffee machine, BBQ... but my favourite was the back verandar and the view it offered. The house was super clean and very new... The only dissapointment we had was that we didnt get to enjoy the house enough... I would have loved an extra day just to chill on the property. love, love, loved it!!! PS Pyrenees wine tour is a must during your stay with the Grampians wine tour group. "

  • "A lovely peaceful setting, pretty outlook from the wide deck across the rolling brown land to the Pyreenees and the gorgeous setting of the sun. Inside is perfect: what more could you want! Great position from which to visit wineries, the Talbot farmers' market, the Olive and Lavendar tea rooms in Avoca or just read, rest and recuperate in the comfortable lounge chairs. Enjoyed it immensely!"
