Description
Beached at Straddie is a private waterfront property located on the island retreat of Couran Point, South Stradbroke Island, which is one of the world's few naturally occurring sand islands. The beach house is only 15 minutes by water from the Northern end of the Gold Coast and is adjacent to the Couran Point Resort Beach Club.
The island has quiet sandy beaches, both surfing and calm, picturesque palm trees and beautiful national park bushland which is a haven for wallabies, such as the unique golden wallaby which is not found anywhere else in South East Queensland.
The beach house has 3 large bedrooms, main with ensuite and walk in robe, plus a kids retreat or possible 4th bedroom. Bedding consists of 1 king size bed, 1 queen bed, 1 double , 2 king singles and a double fold out sofa bed (in the kids retreat). There is plenty of room, and an additional double mattress can be supplied if required.
All linen is provided and there is a fully equipped laundry.
Living and dining areas are large and open plan with high cathedral ceilings, tastefully furnished and equipped with TV, DVD and CD player (with ipod dock).
The kids retreat is set up with a TV and VCR, and can be closed off from the main living area.
The kitchen has stainless steel appliances- dishwasher, microwave, gas cooktop, electric oven and ice maker fridge.
A huge, covered, outdoor deck leads off the living areas and is where you will no doubt spend most of your time! It is equipped with a BBQ and outdoor furniture, and has beautiful views across your own private, sandy beach and pontoon, to the water.

There is also a motorised golf buggy available for use getting around the island, please note that this is strictly for licenced drivers, there are certain areas on the island where the buggy is not permitted and conditions do apply. please also be aware that the buggy is provided at no additional charge to the property rental, and is provided free to make getting to the resort easier. It may be unavailable at times due to mechanical issues and/or maintenance without warning, and without reduction of the rental price.
The magnificent surf beach is popular for swimming, surfing, fishing & dune sledding and is a 2km stroll along sandy beach tracks and also accessible by bike.
Guests staying at the beach house have access to the facilities at Couran Point Island Resort which is only a short walk away. As a guest of Beached At Straddie, you are able to use the resort's tropical lagoon pool and tennis courts, as well as their restaurant and bar. Their pool area has a slide into the water, which is a real drawcard for the kids. It also has a children's playground located near the tennis court area. (Please note that the resort is currently only open during weekends for lunch. It does close from time to time on the weekend also to cater for private functions)
