Rivers Rest is a delightful and quaint country retreat hidden amongst rain forest and open cattle grazing paddocks. The perfect escape for people who want to relax and unwind. The whole place is yours alone to do as you wish. There is plenty to do and see: canoeing, bush walking, mountain biking, golf, tennis, horseback riding, fishing, swimming.

There is also a choice of many scenic drives in this area. We are less than one hour from the beaches of Forster and Hallidays Point. Barrington National Park is a short 50 minute drive.

We are located at the foothills of the World Heritage listed Barrington Tops National Park. Breathe in the fresh country air as you listen to the sound of the Barrington White Water River just outside your doorstep. Fall asleep and wake up as the rocks gently roll under the flowing river. When in season pick your fill of limes, oranges, lemonade, and tangelos - fresh from the tree.

Enjoy the Serenity

Rivers Rest is one residence that comfortably accommodates two people-a private place to be alone. There’s the main living area and a separate bedroom. Both are fully self contained cedar cottages that are spacious and comfortable with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Enjoy your afternoon drinks and meals as you sit above the river. Nap on the veranda or just lay back and listen.

Being here will lull you into a sense of tranquility. The birds and wildlife are remarkable. Watch the wallabies feeding only a stones throw away in the early morning or evening.

Once you arrive............you’ll never want to leave.

A Couple's Retreat

Rivers Rest is a couple's retreat only and therefore not suitable for children. If however there is a group of you wanting to get away together and don't mind living at a seperate guest house, we can help you with further accomadation just within a kilometer or so to us.

There is a minimum 2 night stay. All linen, towels, tea, coffee are supplied, along with a selection of CD's and DVD's.
