Description

The ideal romantic luxury rural getaway for two people, very private and very secluded....nothing but the sounds of nature and your own unique piece of paradise....with 3 dams and a beautiful creek, combined together with a beautiful french chateau with 5 acres under vine, a weekend to truly inspire yourselves.

St Briavels Country House is located just outside the village of Broke and is only minutes from the famous vineyards and cellar doors.

The house and property & Location and attractions of Broke

St Briavels Country House is 30 acres. The property has 5 acres under vine, mainly Semillon and Chardonnay. The house has stunning views of the Brokenback Ranges and the sunsets in winter are spectacular.
A queen size bed and large windows overlooking the vineyard.

The large chef's kitchen has everything- microwave, oven, gas hotplates, all the facilities of a well designed kitchen
Cook up a feast... then pack it all in the dishwasher.

There is only the one house on the property, set well back from the road, so your privacy is guaranteed.

The wine sub-region of Broke Fordwich is approximately 15 minutes west of Pokolbin. The wines of this region are distinctly different. They tend to be fruitier, softer- and generally better value!

Our region is famous for Verdelho. Most cellar doors are open every weekend, and welcome visitors with a smile.
The award winning Broke Village Fair takes place every year on the 3rd Sunday in September. If you love vintage cars and bikes this is a must see event.
Some of the best rural views are in Broke. Yellow Rock is the most noticeable- you will see it towering over Broke as you drive along Broke Road. Ask the locals and they will point you to special areas for bushwalking, including areas with ancient aboriginal carvings. The area has lots of shady picnic spots and a drive to nearby Wollombi is only 15 minutes away.

  • "This place was phenomenal. We had an amazing long weekend. The piglets and calves next door, the magic tree down by the creek, the amazing windows upstairs that allowed for an mind blowing veiw of the stars and moon after lights out. I can keep going! The adorable village of Broke 5 minutes away, the massive fireplace, the BBQ'd dinner on the veranda as the sun set. Friendly locals, Eden the manager was very accomodating and James wine tours are recommended. Girls weekend awesomeness :) Do yourself a favour and go. GO NOW! :)"

  • "We had a wonderful stay! The open fire was a highlight and much needed as it was freezing outside, but so beautiful with all the frost and mist in the valley. We discovered the river, an orchard, a beautiful lake with huge trees around it....the kids were in heaven! Great house, fab kitchen, aircon, and lots of space to enjoy the country air. We will definitely be back :o) melanie"

  • "Great place with nice facilities--quiet and beautiful scenery.Even woke up to find a kangaroo hopping around the garden one morning! We had a bit of a problem finding the place as name St. Briavels doesn`t appear anywhere on the gate-only old name of Cockfighters Creek--difficult to see if you arrive after dark. Very clean accommodation and nice big kitchen."
