A drive of 30 minutes allows you to visit the Lakes Eachan and Barrine, Yungaburra, Atherton, Mnt Uncle winery, Golden Drop Distillery and the giant Curtain Fig Tree. A little over 60 minutes drive will see you in Cairns, Innisfail, Paronella Park and the Undara Lava Tubes.

Local Wildlife

For those interested in brid watching, over 150 varieties of native birds ranging from the tiny Fire Tail Finch to Australia's largest raptor, the Wedge Tail Eagle, frequent the area in the immediate vicinity of the Lodge. Guest Reviews
We had a lovely time thank you :o) It was wonderfully cool, which meant my hubby and I got to sleep in past 7am because it was too cold for the kids to get out of bed! hehe...

The boys had great fun walking down the drive *many* times a day looking for the "wobbolies", and your resident possum probably has a tummy ache from the amount of apple and sultanas the kids insisted on lining up on the verandah rails each night. My eldest is doing his class talk on how possums like apple and sultanas but not sausage.

The house was magnificent, what a beautiful spot, so peaceful.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and have recommended it to others. It was a blissful 6 days - not a shopping mall in sight, no muzak, no hassle, rush and crush.

We had a lovely time at your lodge. We wished we could stay few more days. My husband's family from USA are so impressed with the tranquil surrounding and enjoyed the wild life.
I would like to book the lodge again next year when my family from Japan visit us. I am sure they will enjoy the lodge as much as US visitor did.

My parents and myself enjoyed the place very much. It was a perfect place to enjoy some peace and have a break in our 3 weeks touring holidays in queensland. We particularly appreciated how welcoming the place was arranged when we arrived there the first day (breakfast hamper, bath robes etc). I met with Penny and Richard briefly on our third day, it was very friendly and they both provided useful advises about the activities around. It is definately a place I would recommned to friends, and hope to be back there too.

Lovely place! It is so peaceful and relaxing. The great thing is, there are no interruptions, just the family and the great outdoors. Not to mention the occasional possums and kookaburras for brekie. We'd love to come back for another stay, but maybe when its not so cold.

What can we say! Absolutely beautiful - we had the most wonderful time. We especially want to thank Christina. Her hard work and dedication to ensure we had a great stay was appreciated. We had the kookaburras join us for breakfast and the possums join us for dinner. It is such a great spot for kids. It has everything we might need yet it felt as though we were miles from anywhere - just what we needed to relax and refresh. Thank you so much for making us feel so welcome Christina - Hopefully we will see you next year when we return.

Michael and Tania, We stayed at the lodge Sunday and Monday nights, 22nd and 23rd April. It was excellent - an exclusive relaxing upmarket getaway. The swamp wallabies were on the lawn when we arrived, and the possums came late at night. The kids had a great time. Thanks.

Very peaceful and so much bird life. Very relaxing. No barramundi, a few red claw.
