Although we are located only 200 metres from Lake Tinaroo, views have been obscured by rapid forest growth. The closest boat ramp is a 1km drive.
The accommodation consists of 1 pole house which includes 2 double bedrooms and and 2 bathrooms; there are 2 sofa beds (futon style) located in the lounge area. All rooms are equiped with ceiling fans (airconditioners not required in this climate). The top floor of the lodge includes a dining area and log fire place. The balcony features an outdoor dining area with BBQ and is a great place to take in the natural wildlife. T.V, DVD, Free DVD's, Austar with National Geographic, Discovery, Sports, Movies, News and Cartoon Network, books, games and laundry facilities are available in the lodge.
Discounts are offered for group bookings and extended stays.
No charge for infants (under 2 years of age).
Lake Tinaroo is a fishermans paradise if you enjoy Barramundi Fishing and is only 200 metres from your front door. For those who prefer fresh crustacean, the lake is also home to Red Claw (similar to small crayfish). Lake Tinaroo also offers skiing, yachting, windsurfing and boating. A drive of 30 minutes allows you to visit the Lakes Eachan and Barrine, Yungaburra, Atherton, Mnt Uncle winery, Golden Drop Distillery and the giant Curtain Fig Tree. A drive of under 60 minutes will take you to Ravenshoe, Millstream Falls, Granite Gorge, Malanda Falls, Millaa Millaa Falls and Kuranda, which offers scenic railway trips, Skyrail, Rainforest Tours, Birdworld, Koala Gardens, Butterfly Sanctuary and the unique Kuranda markets. A little over 60 minutes drive will see you in Cairns, Innisfail, Paronella Park and the Undara Lava Tubes.
For those interested in brid watching, over 150 varieties of native birds ranging from the tiny Fire Tail Finch to Australia's largest raptor, the Wedge Tail Eagle, frequent the area in the immediate vicinity of the Lodge. Native flowering trees which have been planted in the area immediately below the lodge serve as an added attraction to the many nectar eating birds and other wildlife including the Ulyssis Butterfly.
The Atherton Region has a large range of unique flora and fauna, including the Cassowary, the Tree Kangaroo and the Amethyst Python.
