In the tradition of The Man From Snowy River, Snowy Wilderness is a pristine high country resort and a sanctuary for Australia’s wild Brumby.

Snowy Wilderness adjoins the Kosciusko National Park and is 7,200 rugged acres of pure enjoyment offering luxury accommodation including the Homestead (up to 10 people starts $350), The Cottage (secluded couple stay $175), The High Country Lodges (luxury 2 to 5 people starts $265), and our Wilderness Campsites (up to 30 people $29 per person per night).

Tours and activities include horse riding, 4WD/Brumby watching, fly fishing, QAD biking, camping, great Australian meals and hospitality.

Besides the wild Brumbies, Snowy Wilderness is also home to our own kangaroo, wallaby, emu, wombat, echidna, wedge tail eagle, deer, as well as many varieties of native birds, and flora.

Horse Riding

Snowy Wilderness has a large selection of the best horses for our environment, and our team of Snowy River horsemen will guide you through our spectacular terrain. This is where the tradition of the Man from Snowy River lives on.

The country at Snowy Wilderness is challenging and we cater for experienced riders. For those who are not experienced easier tracks can be selected or guided 4WD and Quad Bike tours are available and you can meet up with each other at the campsite or reception for lunch and/or the end of each day. You can also bring your own horse if you please.

Camp out with our guides and experience a traditional Aussie camp oven feast or barbeque under the beautiful stars of our Southern Hemisphere.

OR for the experienced riders, try our SNOWY RIVER CHALLENGE, a minimum of 4 days up and down spurs and mountain peaks to the Snowy River and back, breathtaking views, awesome terrain, and camping on the banks of our most famous river. This is Australia\'s greatest horse ride.

Snowy Wilderness is the ultimate in riding experience, your horse, a camp fire, the southern stars, great food, wine, stories, and your own bed with Aussie swag provided – all you bring is your sense of well being, appropriate footwear and clothing. Activity Options

Quad Bike Tours

Getting astride one of our 500cc top of the range Quad Bikes is exciting and guarantees to get your adrenalin running. The majestic beauty of Snowy Wilderness is combined with terrain that will absolutely exhilarate you. From our 5km Roller Coaster ride to the steepest and most rugged 4WD track to the most serene country with commanding views of our Snowy Mountains or into Victoria, the guided tours on our Quads are a favourite – not to be missed!!

Join us for the 2 day overnight tour camping on the banks of the Snowy River. You will tour throughout the Wilderness and then experience awesome climbs and descents with views to die for on the way to the Snowy. Fully catered with scrumptious meals.

Being 18 years and over and having sturdy boots is your passport to explore Snowy Wilderness on our Quads. You will never run out of new sights to discover and thrills to be experienced. Activity Options
