***SPECIAL BONUS FOR OUR GUESTS - BEAUTIFULLY MADE PLATYPUS AND PENGUIN SOFT TOYS (VALUED AT $30), WHEN YOU STAY IN ELLIE'S TOWNHOUSE FOR A MINIMUM 2 NIGHTS.
Stanley was settled in 1826, a quaint fishing village, with delightful historic buildings built at the base of The Nut, a 152 metre monolith rising from the ocean. While in Stanley be sure to take the chairlift to the summit for breathtaking views at the top. Highfield House and Joe Lyons cottage are well worth a visit. Joe Lyons cottage is the birthplace of this Tasmanian born Prime Minister of Australia.
There is an abundance of wildlife in Stanley, with Platypus and Penguin viewing tours operating on demand. See the Tarkine rainforests in comfort with an expert guide in the comfort of a Landcruiser 4 wheel drive, with fine Tasmanian food and wines included. See seals and do some Tasmanian Devil spotting.
We also own Ye Olde Chocolate Shoppe and The Swingin' Anchor Cafe at No. 4 Church Street.
The cafe specialises in local Tasmanian fine food, with our homegrown Murray Grey and Wagyu beef, local scallops and crayfish. We claim fame to the best scallop pies in Tasmania, hand made to our own special recipe with a mild, delicious curry base.
We do fantastic "Grinders" coffee, traditional iced coffee and iced chocolates, milkshakes of all flavours, and a range of Cascade juices and sparkling drinks.
The chocolate shop is an old fashioned experience for young and old, specialising in many of Tasmania's delicious fudges, truffles, chocolates, boiled sweets, and of course Tasmanian made Valhalla icecream and sorbets.
