Moorhead House

Description

This is a contiuously well maintained three bedroom home built in 1987, with its own bush garden frequented by native birds. It is a self contained free standing house with full privacy and fenced yard. Dogs are welcome but please no cats.

It has a sunny warm courtyard with a gas barbeque, outside table & chairs, market umbrella along with a kennel for the dog.

Facing the ocean there is a wide safe balcony also with table chairs etc where you can enjoy the view on sunny mornings in winter & the cool sea breeze in summer. The rainbow lorikeets will welcome you there soon after you arrive.

You can see out to the ocean from the livingroom and bedroom or just sit and watch television or read a good book.

THings to do.

A five minute stroll without crossing a road takes you to a long clean leash free beach for walking your dog. If you enjoy fishing this is a great spot to try your hand or from the rocks at the nearby Tura Headland in calm weather. Also nearby you can take your dog on a forest walk.

Merimbula is a ten minute drive away and there you can arrange offshore fishing trips or join a whale watching expedition when the whales are passing in spring. The Tourist Information Centre is helpful for such bookings and general enquiries.

The Tura Beach Country Club with golf course, bowling greens & tennis courts is a five minute drive away. Here you will also find an excellent reastaurant.

A shopping centre with a newsagent & gymnasium is also a five minute drive away and has a Medical Centre next door.
Our summers are mild & in winter we enjoy lots of still sunny days with cool nights but no frosts.

Things to see and experience.

There are several National Parks close by where you can enjoy the beauty of nature & our magnificent coastline. Or perhaps you would like to take a joy flight from our Merimbula airport. Flights to Sydney & Melbourne take place daily also.

For those who enjoy the arts we have several galleries of high standing, and it is only a comfortable drive to visit delightful towns like Tilba Tilba & Cobargo. Canberra is three hours away by car & the snowfields two & a half hours.

Fresh oysters of the highest quality can be purchased from the growers at very reasonable prices. There is a market held in a locality nearby every Sunday where fresh produce and hand made items are available.
