One of the world's largest shield volcanos was active some 20 million years ago. Today people from all over the world come to climb the central volcanic massif, now known as Mt Warning, many starting early enough to witness the first sunrays on the Australian mainland caught by the top of the mountain.

Our 1920's home is full of charm and the peacefulness of yesteryear. Wooden floors revealed and polished, it is now ready to be your home away from home. Surrounded by wide verandas the house looks over 5 acres of tropical garden, including rare flowers and trees, right on the beautiful Tweed River. Pamper yourself with a relaxing massage, or sit and enjoy the peaceful surroundings.

Comfortable, air-conditioned, heated bedrooms have easy access to a guest lounge and a shared old-world bathroom with claw foot bath. A simply furnished self-contained apartment for up to 4-5 people with kitchen and bathroom is available for short or longer stays. Our charming Yurt is the perfect solution for guests seeking luxury camping. Tent accomodations in the garden or by the river place you among the birds with access to rustic camp kitchen and camper's bathrooms with hot showers. The entire Retreat can be hired. We accommodate couples, singles, families and groups. Our rates are very affordable. Optional breakfast served on our sunny balcony is available for $10 per person.
