Description of Facilities

Your well-travelled hosts take very good care of up to eight adults - from singles to families - in your choice of two units, each with its own private entrance via a spectacular west-facing verandah.

Unit 1 can accommodate up to 4 adults, with a bedroom (comfortable queen-size bed) separated by a wall and door to a sitting room with chairs and sofa bed. A charming wood-burning stove completes the cosy ambience.

Unit 2, the "Family Unit", is an open-floor plan with similar furnishings, plus an extra sofa and space for a rollaway bed. The dining room, bathroom and kitchen (no cooking, please) are shared areas, but there is plenty of room for privacy.

Easily accessible from the Northwest Coastal Highway, the Old Miners' Cottages B&B welcomes you via a large, circular driveway - with ample parking to accommodate cars, trailers, and boats of all sizes.

The B&B with a Real Difference!

On the right day, you may catch your hosts Heidi and David in their professional clown costumes - or even score a free lesson on their drum kit!

Past customers of Heidi's (award-winning) Restaurant, as well as new guests, will be happy to know that dinners and cooked breakfasts can be reserved in advance - although a large continental breakfast is included in the tariff.

Guest Reviews

  • "We admired the atmosphere of 100 year old cottage with its unique furniture and collectibles, which gave a special character to the place. The house was clean and had everything we needed. "

  • "This property really surprised us. We expected that it would be an interesting experience staying in an historical building. We didn't realise how comfortable and cosy it would be nor how much we would really enjoy staying in Northampton. Our hosts - David and Heidi- were fantastic, even bring out the beer and guitars on our last night! If you want to stay somewhere with character where you can feel at home, then this property is where you should head!"

  • "What an unexpected delight the Old Miners cottage is. Full of character and history, and the hosts Heidi and David couldn't have been more welcoming to our family. And the impromptu drum lesson for the boys made it a very special stay indeed. I couldn't recommend it more highly and will certainly be back again to soak up the character, great food and company!"
