The small coastal resort of Venus Bay is around 160 km from Melbourne (under 2 hours) – halfway between Phillip Island and Wilsons Promontory. Venus Bay is on a narrow peninsula of land, bordered on one side by the ocean beaches of Bass Strait and on the other by the calm waters of Anderson Inlet.
Venus Bay is a haven for surfing, fishing, beachcombing and bushwalking. Enjoy 22 kilometres of surf beach (Beach One patrolled by lifesavers in summer) or swim at Anderson Inlets sheltered bay.
Explore the striking natural beauty of the area with a bushwalk in Cape Liptrap Coastal Park or a beach walk through the dunes.
A short drive away are historic sites such as the Cape Liptrap Lighthouse and the Lime Kilns.
Discover tranquil Anderson Inlet at low tide when the sand flats are exposed and the water-birds are flocking. The inlet is a favourite of windsurfers, boaters and swimmers.
