Description

Google or Near Map- 16 Ingram Rd. Anglesea for a look at the location.
Our house has been set up so three families can live in the house all together without the hassles of crowded bathrooms.

Yep, there is one bathroom for each family- each with a shower, toilet and vanity.

AS EXTRA to rent-( P.O.A.) We can offer the BUNGALOW in the back yard which has been fully re-lined/insulated and has polished floor boards.
There are two bunk beds that can be seperated from the tv/ lounge area by twin sliding doors.
There are also two couches and a TV in the "louge" part.
Just EXCELLENT for the teenagers to give them their space.

We have recently installed an outside shower that runs off a large water tank - great for after the beach, to get the sand off.

A double bedroom for each couple and a large room for the kids with two sets of double bunks and a fold down couch/bed.

New LCD Flat Screen TV in the Lounge which will accept a USB input if you have movies, photos on a hard drive.

Walk to the main Surf Beach & Cafe' at the Surf Life Saving Club.
Take a short walk through the bushlands to local attractions including; Surf Beach Cliff Top Walk, Golf Course, Restaurants, Local Pub, Cafe's and Shopping.

Walk or drive to Angelsea Surf Beach to catch a wave or just lay on the beach.
The eastern end of Anglsea beach at the River Mouth, is a great place to take the little kids, as it has shallow warm water and no waves. Take a bat and ball for beach cricket.
Lots of family activity there to keep everyone amused.

You may want to sit with a coffee and a snack whilst taking in the view of ANGLESEA beach from the decking of the Surf Life Saving Club House Cafe. (One of best beach views in Anglesea and Victoria - for that matter)

The COOROONGA PARK "WET LANDS" reserve is just five minutes walk from the house, there you will see an abundance of birdlife on the many beautiful board-walks across the wet lands. There are also many Mountain Bike tracks in and around the wetlands.

You may want to take a paddle boat or a (low) powered boat out on the river. (Just near the bridge on the Great Ocean Road.)

Take a short drive to Torquay to buy up on some surf gear and clothing. All the big surf brands have there direct outlets there, although it can be a bit hectic there, it's always nice to come back to AMBROSE HOUSE and relax.

You may want to stop on the way at LONGBOARDS Bellbrae Winery for a Ploughman's Lunch (highly recommended) or some other fine food with a glass of the wonderful local wine.

Another great lunch spot is Berry Farm, it's only a 15min drive from Anglesea - great food/wine and a lovely spot by a small lake.

We have recently discovered "Gentle Annie's" Berry Gardens & Tea rooms in nearby Deans Marsh for a wonderful trip into the country. Great meals & light lunches, berry-fruit picking (seasonal), fresh produce, licensed. Very lay back and just wonderful.
(Try the mixed berry and ice - cream dessert- Yum !!!)

There are a number of very good Wineries in the region to sample the cellar door sales- make a day trip of it from Ambrose House.

  • "To AMBROSE HOUSE, Just wanted to say thank-you, the house was very comfortable and we all had a lovely time at the wedding and for the rest of our stay. The complimentary bubbly and clear directions for everything in the house were greatly appreciated. As was the open fire as it was quite chilly on the first night! I would have no hesitation booking another stay or recommending the property to others. We left the house just as we found it. Thank-you, Ash"
