ABOUT A MINER'S REST COTTAGE
This rose-gardened Cottage has been fully restored with quality furnishings to become a comfortable, fully self- contained, relaxing holiday home close to the CBD with aircon and heating at the flick of a switch.
The Lavender heritage bedroom has a queen bed and is romantic and pretty. The Rose bedroom has two single beds with a fold out if necessary. All bedrooms have free, pristine, crisp linen, extra duvets and electric blankets for the colder weather and cool aircon for the summer.
There is a new bathroom with a large spa with lots of bubbles which will keep the kids entertained for hours before you try it with candlelight and champagne when they've finally gone to bed!
There is a delightful outside garden setting with a gas BBQ, a child-safe back garden with 6'fences for privacy and a hammock to swing in and gaze at the clouds through the trees, and enough enclosed, secure off-street parking for 3 cars, a boat and a pony!
A walk of 4 mts will get you to the food shops in Patton St, Alma Pub, and clubs and more pubs are a 3 minute drive to town.
There is a fully equiped kitchen with dishwasher and complete laundry facilities.
Lots of family/children's DVDs to choose from in the stretch-out comfortable lounge room, a small selection of toys and the old picturesque south minehead can be viewed from the back garden

SOME LOCAL BROKEN HILL INFORMATION THAT MIGHT INTEREST YOU......................
Broken Hill is an ancient land with miraculous sunsets. Mutawinji has wonderful ancient aboriginal art and Mungo National Park is one of the world's foremost archaeological sites.
Silverton, an old mining town, is only a short drive away. Visit the historic Day Dream mine, stop off at the old Silverton Pub where the 'Mad Max' epics were filmed, or ride a camel in the desert. Wander around the art galleries and chat with the artists, photograph the Mundi Mundi plains (which go on forever), or become refreshed in the old cafe on the hill while you enjoy their collections of old bottles, bits and pieces, and old dolls.
Visit the many artist's studios and enjoy the diversity of art in Broken Hill, and of course a visit to Pro Hart's art collection is a must!
Swim or boat at Copi Hollow, Menindee, or the local swimming pool. Play golf or visit the Living Desert sculptures and enjoy the wild flower and fauna walking trails, where you will see a kangaroos feeding at close range or emus wandering around looking for a handout!
Wander down Argent Street and admire the old buildings. Visit White's Museum which will explain to you how mining works, or take a guided tour around the city's attractions. Visit the Geo Centre full of amazing mineral samples or drive the 40km 'Silver Trail' visiting 113 interesting sites.
Listen in on the 'School of the Air' or visit the Royal Flying Doctor base at the airport, but whatever you do don't miss 'The Big Picture'!
Your only problem with 'Things To Do' is the amount of time you have in Broken Hill - there's always something else to see or another place to go!
HAPPY EXPLORING!
Cafes, Restaurants, Pubs and Clubs abound! Eating out, or ordering in, is not a problem.
We enjoy the Broken Earth Restaurant on top of the mines for that romantic dinner (a tad expensive tho). Probably better for morning or afternoon tea if you want to admire the view. The Astra Hotel is also an upmarket, relaxing place to dine for a special meal (more reasonable prices, especially the wine).
The Musician's Club is comfortable and reasonably priced for lunch/dinner and they have child minding and the Internet available.
The Democratic Club do reasonable steaks (cheap but nice meals) as does the Legion Club (dancing on Sat. nights) , and the Mulga Tavern caters for kids and parents alike.
'Alfresco's' is good and reasonably priced, and Pubs are everywhere so you'll not have a problem finding one!
If you would rather do your own thing, Coles a walk away, Woolworths supermarket is at Centro and Foodland in Blende St. The town's butchers sell really great meat (try their hogget chops!).
There are plenty of coffee shops in the main street (we love 'Red Lush' in Argent St under Astra Hotel - not expensive but nice) and, of course, a McDonalds is three minutes away at the Centro shopping centre, Subway in the main street and great fish and chips shops in Oxide St and a good Chinese restaurant cnr Oxide and Crystal Sts.
Failing that, you can order in - look in the phone book at the cottage for a selection or in the notes we leave for your perusal. ENJOY!
Note: Pricing is subject to change, and a minimum stay period and other conditions may apply. You should confirm pricing with the property owner.
