Gull Cottage is situated in a quiet cul de sac on exclusive Camden Head, 10 mins to the nearby shops, restaurants and cinema in Laurieton and just 30 mins from Port Macquarie.
Gull Cottage is a casual stroll from a surf beach, the beautiful protected 'Pilot Beach' just inside a breakwall, the Camden Haven River, The 'Googleys' lake and Kattang National Park.
Gull Cottage has been recently renovated complete with a brand new kitchen, providing comfortable accommodation and an expansive deck with commanding views over the Lake and North Brother Mountain. Perfect for the al fresco bar-b-q.
A feature of Camden Head is the resident wildlife with koalas, wallabies, possums, native birdlife and dolphins all part of the day-to-day life. Walking trails in the Kattang national park give access to some of the most spectacular unspoilt coastal landscape and vegitation on the Mid North Coast.
Gull Cottage is the perfect place for a relaxing holiday for families, groups or couples wanting all the attractions of the Mid North Coast. Surf, swim, fish, bushwalking, catch a movie or pick up a bargain at the Riverside Markets, or just relax on the deck amongst the birdlife and magnificent views.
Just to the east of Dunbogan and Laurieton, Camden Head is an exclusive residential area with glorious views north to Port Macquarie and west to North Brother Mountain. The area features walking trails through Kattang nature reserve, and excellent views from Point Perpendicular along South Beach to Diamond Head in the Crowdy Bay National Park. A trail down to the sea allows you to discover deep water rock pools with a variety of sea life, excellent rock fishing, surfing and sun-baking.
For swimming, Pilot Beach is nestled next to the river breakwall with safe 'bay' swimming for the littlies. Wash House Beach is separated by the dummy breakwall and has good open beach surfing, rock fishing and exploring.
Camden Head Pilot Station is a rare surviving intact group of buildings at the mouth of the Camden Haven River. The site was used as a Pilot Station from 1890 -1975 with the original Pilot house built in 1907. The current building dates from 1950. It is currently the subject of a conservation redevelopment, funded in part by Hastings Council, the NSW Ministry of the Arts and the Department of Land and Water Conservation, which will make the facilities available for nature writing, environmental education and community activities.
Camden Head is part of the Camden Haven area located 30 kms south of the city of Port Macquarie on the mid north coast of NSW, and five minutes from the commercial centre of Laurieton. The Camden Haven River runs from the foothills of the Great Dividing Range to the sea, where the three holiday towns of North Haven, Laurieton and Dunbogan are located.
