  • "I have NEVER posted a review on any thing before this however I feel that the holiday we had in Melbourne based around St Kilda cottage was so impressive I had to sing the praises of Jeanine and her Cottage. We were met and introduced to the cottage by a very pleasant and accomodating host (she actually offered to drive us to locations in melbourne!!!!). Jeanine had organised hampers for breakfast including 1Kg of bacon, freshly laid eggs (from the back yard chooks) tomatoes, real coffee, cereals, breads (two loaves, 4 litres of two types of milk etc etc. She had also organised Xmas hampers of plum puddings, BIG bon bons, chocolates, a Xmas tree and heaps more trappings. On top of that was a bottle of red and a bottle of champagne. The kitchen pantry had enough staples in it to keep my family well supplied for at least a week. Unbelievable!! The cottage it self was cute and very comfortable. It was cool in 39 degree heat and warm enough when the temp dropped to 24 degree days over the Xmas period. We hosted a dinner party with nine people quite easily( all invitees enjoyed the cottage as well). The location to both St Kilda Ackland street and St Kilda road for tram access is incredibly easy. I would have no hesitation in staying there again with my family. I would happily post my contact details for recommendations but I'm wary of identity fraud. Believe me when i say the place is great for a family vacation. "

  • "We wanted to move in and live there forever! The house is much bigger than it appears on the website, "cottage" is such an understatement - a warm, gracious old building, beautifully appointed, and lovely back yard. Janine was a treasure, so generous and hospitable. "

  • "What a wonderful place to stay! My husband and I have 3 kids under four and it was just the perfect place to stay with little kids. Janine has books, toys and a good sized back yard to run around in. We were only a short walk to all the shops we needed and the St Kilda Botanical Gardens. A great location. The house was set up with everthing we needed from a cot and highchair to a range of goodies in the cupdoards and fridge and the wonderful fresh eggs. Janine was a great host and made sure we had everything we needed. We will certainly be going back!"

  • "A wonderful place to stay and a great place for children. This property has a delightful garden out the back and is located close to St Kilda beach, parks and many cafes and restaurants. THe owner, Janine is lovely and incredibly thoughtful and will do anything to make your stay a pleasant one. We will definetely be back and we are looking forward to it."

  • "This "home away from home" is wonderful. The owner,Janine,is very friendly and unobtrusive and leaves you with everything you need for a couple of days relaxation..bread,milk,bacon,eggs,fruit,vegies,fresh flowers even. The location is great, safe for kids and walking distance to everything.Huge house and room for 5 of us with no problem.Great value too compared to the amount we were looking at for a hotel.Higly recommended!"

  • "What can we say? Firstly Janine is wonderful hostess..making sure you are settled and filling the fridge and pantry with everything you need to avoid the supermarket for a few days! Fresh fruit and flowers are touches like home. That said, you will have complete privacy and great location to all St Kilda and Melbourne have to offer..trams, restaurants, shops (all friendly in St Kilda). Large house which is deceptive from the front. We will be staying again when in Melbourne! Thanks again Janine."

  • "We stayed at St Kilda Cottage for a week with our 2 children and my parents-in-law (so 4 adults, 2 kids) The house had plenty of room for all of us and we were very pleasantly surprised by the spaciousness of the living areas. The location was fabulous - short walk to Trams, shops, Luna Park, etcThe house had everything we needed except for a clothes airer or tumble dryer however there are some laundries close by and we made use of the clothes line on dry days.Janine was able to assist us with wireless internet which was fabulous. We would definitely stay at St Kilda Cottage again.Highly recommended."

  • "The cottage readily accomodates 5 adults with a cool spacious lounge and small shady garden for relaxing. It is comfortably furnished, well equipped and was generously provisioned with food. The owner who lives next door was very helpful without intruding. It was a real home from home for us."
